Paid Members JLM Posted February 27 Paid Members Posted February 27 Good thing about that jacket is you can wear it at the barbers. “People say I don’t have ‘it’ and they’re not wrong” is a very daring promo opener. Quote
DavidB6937 Posted February 27 Posted February 27 I never thought I could nearly fall asleep during a 30 second promo so that's pretty impressive. Quote
Paid Members Supremo Posted March 3 Paid Members Posted March 3 (edited) Check out the lad playing a cop, grinning from ear to ear. Even the extras have cottoned on and are amused by you, Paul. We see you. You’ve accidentally Rybaxel’d yourself again, so rather than continue associating with a pair of losers you’ve written yourself out and abandoned ship. Rat. d-d-d-dAz Posted March 3 Posted March 3 Whilst I could watch Punk and Reigns riff on each other all day, and it still feels like the only Mania worthy match they have going on, i'm not entirely sure why everyone is tugging themselves off about Punk's last line. It just felt completely random to me. Still, a million stars for working Punk's eye bags into canon. Quote
Paid Members RedTwoster Posted March 3 Paid Members Posted March 3 I thought that was an excellent RAW and it’s been a while since I’ve felt that way about a WWE show. There have been plenty of solid shows, but very few that have left me excited about what’s coming next. So Danhausen’s gimmick is that he’s spoiling match results? That took away from the Dom/Penta match for me as it felt inevitable that Mysterio would lose, which was a shame - I wouldn’t have felt that way if Danhausen hadn’t cursed him. I’m dreading the inevitable day when wrestlers are acting scared of his ‘curse’, treating it as if he really does have powers. It’s amazing how little value Rusev has. ‘Miro’ felt like a force, Rusev Day-era Rusev was very over, but they’ve somehow managed to turn him into the wrestling equivalent of an energy vampire. You see him, and it sucks any enthusiasm or excitement for what’s about to happen out of the room. Oba Femi is the opposite of that, though - I hope they roll the dice on both Femi and Trick Williams in 2026, giving them World title wins. They both feel like megastars in a way a male NXT call-up hasn’t felt in a very, very long time - maybe ever. God forgive me, but I’m enjoying the Americano stuff. It’s really stupid and a waste of both wrestlers, but I’m still finding it very entertaining. Silly can work, when the people involved are talented enough. The Punk/Reigns segment was excellent, making it even more face-palming that they did what they chose to do last year rather than this. Thankfully, it doesn’t really feel like that match happened and this hasn’t lost any of its appeal or magic. I imagine they’ll get to close night two, and they absolutely should - it’s hard to imagine any other match on the card feeling this compelling. Quote
Paid Members Supremo Posted March 3 Paid Members Posted March 3 I wasn’t aware of what they were referring to when they mentioned to Rhea it had been, “a crazy 48 hours.” Seems Rhea and Jade have gone full Charlotte and Tiffany before even doing a promo on air. What the fuck are we doing here. Two hugely dominant characters, with incredible looks, this should have been the easiest feud in the World. A modern day Hulk vs. Warrior dynamic, where all it takes is them standing next to each other on a poster. Look at these two! They’re going to fight each other! Someone is going to win! And yet in no time flat it’s already became a worked shoot mess that’s completely gone off the rails. Worst of all is the very likely scenario that this is all scripted and planned to feature in the next season of Unreal. So a worked shoot shit show that’s actually a work. Shitception. Quote
Paid Members Lorne Malvo Posted March 3 Paid Members Posted March 3 Didn't expect CM Punk to steal Christian's 'lol your dads dead' gimmick but here we are. Quote
NeverYield Posted March 3 Posted March 3 (edited) A better Raw than recent weeks but still didn't think it was much to write home about, obviously Roman-Punk is the best bits. And yeah the Rhea-Jade stuff is bullshit. Masked man stuff, still? Who the fuck even thinks people want to keep seeing this shit. I dunno what WWE are thinking across the board lately but its purely lazy and hopefully the "road to WrestleMania" starts to gain some traction but I wouldln't bet on it. The King of Old School Posted March 3 Author Posted March 3 Bit of a guess with a little logic looking at what has happened on TV recently for Mania... Uso's vs Theory/Paul for the Tag belts, Breaker vs Rollins, Gunther vs Rey, Balor vs Dom, Knight vs Brock Obviously if Breaker doesn't make it then Paul vs Rollins and Uso's against someone else, New Day probably. Oh right, I assumed it was a reference to her winning the Elimination Chamber match. I’d completely forgotten about this even though I’m 90% sure I read it on here. 11 minutes ago, Supremo said: Two hugely dominant characters, with incredible looks, this should have been the easiest feud in the World. It didn’t make Tiffany/Charlotte any better, and it kind of fit their characters a bit more - as you say, it’s two absolute beasts colliding, it writes itself. You don’t need any of this nonsense. 12 minutes ago, Supremo said: Worst of all is the very likely scenario that this is all scripted and planned to feature in the next season of Unreal. So a worked shoot shit show that’s actually a work. Shitception. Oh yeah, you can absolutely see the Bruce Prichard talking head in which he explains the real magic is when fans are left questioning if whether the animosity they’ve seen is real or not. Maybe it is, maybe it isn’t - I don’t really care. Although if it is actually real, the lack of trust fans have in them when it comes to telling the truth and morality has kind of worked in their favour - when similar online nonsense was happening in AEW, it created a feeling of darkness around the promotion. WWE is already murky as fuck, so whether it’s real or storyline, it doesn’t bring you down even slightly. Clearly the way to insulate yourself is to have no values whatsoever. Quote
