FTR2020 Posted March 18 Posted March 18 I reckon the original plan was Gunther to retire Rey at Wrestlemania but with Rey picking up another injury they probably don't have much planned for him for Mania. He will probably win the Andre The Giant battle royal. I would of said put him vs Sami in a match but they already done that at Mania. I would personally love him to go against Dragunov again. That would be the best match at Mania on whatever night they are on. Quote

One thing he mentions is how important it is for top guys to have a bit of a backbone and never just say, “yes,” to any creative direction suggested for them. He speaks about his frustrations with his family members immediately telling Vince they’ll do anything he asks of them whenever he offers them even a sniff of paid work. It’s clear that even beyond the massive gulf in talent, a huge reason why Bret was so successful compared to the rest of his siblings was that he had a bit of self respect and an actual brain in his head. He was able to not only identify when he’d be made to look stupid, but was willing to tell Vince, “no.” It’s what I thought about watching Seth Rollins on this show. The most spineless, brainless bootlicker of them all. He’s said as much publicly that he’s not cleared for physicality yet, but instead of either simply not appearing live or finding clever ways to look cool as fuck like Stone Cold in 1997, he’s agreed to this. Mooching about in a black hoodie and balaclava, fifty goons as backup, still somehow being made to look like a complete scrub. Last week, Seth and the entire Foot Clan were scripted to run away from Austin Theory and Logan Paul. This week, Brock came down and murdered all of them, looked set to do the same to Seth, only for Oba Femi to save Seth, allowing him to once again run away. How on Earth would any self respecting pro-wrestler agree to this portrayal? As a top babyface, he looks fucking terrible. And that’s without even discussing his new shitty graphic, literally lifting the Masked Man graphic from Smackdown vs. Raw 2011. The actual state of this absolute loser. It’s even worse on a meta level. Similar to Survivor Series 2024, he’s allowed the bookers to use him as a Dog Shit Red Herring, where they tease he’s going to be in a match just so that everyone can pop when it ends up being someone else. First with CM Punk joining The Bloodline at Survivor Series and now here, with Oba Femi against Brock. It’s the episode of Unreal I need to see. Triple H explaining to him that he’s so rubbish that the best use of him is to make fans think he’s going to be in a match, only to surprise and satisfy with a much better option instead. Seth invariably nodding and licking arse throughout. They’ll write books about what a chump this man is. I feel like I already have. On the subject of thicko wrestlers with zero instincts, get on Bully Ray’s suggestion for who Randy Orton was on the phone to. Exactly how many chair shots did this moron take in all those TLC matches?! Wasn’t a huge fan of the main event promo. Roman vs. Punk is still better for not having Seth involved, and I do like that they’ve incorporated Punk being old as fuck into the storylines, but it’s feeling less less special each week. It’s left me with an even greater appreciation for Punk vs. Eddie Kingston in AEW. I always marvelled at the brevity of the match itself (eleven minutes! Still can’t believe it!), but now I appreciate the brevity of the feud as well. What we’re seeing with Roman and Punk is that there’s a shelf life on these style of worked shoot, dick swinging promos. One or two and the feud is left fever pitch. However, keep doing it week on week and the novelty wears off and everyone ends up feeling like a catty dickhead. You hope they shoot some type of big angle soon because if they keep doing this for another four weeks I’m not going to not give a shit by match time. Real names of not.
