I was just looking at Raw tickets at the O2 for June as I always get curious.

Cheapest is £169 for basically back row in the highest section 4.

Lower 1 tiered sections you're up to £360 down to like £230 for cheapest/furthest away.

And then floor £900 down to £600 cheapest.

Thought I'd compare to last time I went which was MITB 2013. Combo ticket with Smackdown cost me £250 in 115 🙃

Mania is down to like $177 which is £130?

I saw tickets in the top tier for £92 each before fees in the o2 priority pre-sale on Wednesday near middle rows, so £169 is definitely not the cheapest. In the end, because my daughter wants to see Cody Rhodes and most of her favourites are on SmackDown we're leaving it for now. I think we paid £120 a ticket for Wembley in Jan and that was a decent view.

I'm not saying these are good value prices, mind, but they are sadly comparable to most gigs in massive arenas etc nowadays. As the Mania prices coming down shows, if people vote with their wallets, WWE will have to consider lower prices. Not sure that's on the cards though.

That was just based on what was on there this morning, so perhaps they did have a few cheaper ones beforehand, but still. I don't know how it works in terms of numbers of cheaper ones or if they vary their prices etc.

The commodification seeps into my potential enjoyment of the television product, too. I think I've mentioned this on here before - and I know it's a potentially silly thing I should be able to just ignore - but I'll watch clips and find myself thinking "How representative of an overall viewer/fan demographic is this crowd reaction?" since we're now essentially just getting the A/V feedback on shows largely from mega fans with enormous disposable income to spend.

This isn't about judging their choice of what they're doing with their money - and I'll make the point that it actually produces loud reactions more often than not - but I find it really off-putting in a way that's in line with the rest of WWE's presentation for years now as being a hyperreal video game simulation of itself.

Whole arenas full of people decked head to toe in merch. T-shirts, hats, belts, sippy cups, pendants. All giving incredibly manic, "This is my whole fucking life" energy reactions to most things on screen.

I actually genuinely prefer in older PPVs how the crowd were occasionally - y'know - dead for a mid card match. There's a relaxing sort of authenticity/live sports feel to that.

Completely fair enough, and it's not a defense of WWE's pricing when I point that out. Even the cheaper ones feel pretty extortionate.

And typically that kind of wrestling fan with that level of disposable income will generally veer more towards being "single male with no partner/kids" which is a shame as it means you get a certain type of audience rather than a general audience. WWE should be a family affair, it's a huge shame kids will be getting priced out of experiencing seeing their heroes live.

Cheapest what's available, maybe.

I paid £90 for my ticket - which is still too much, sure.   But it's not £169.

EDIT - I replied before reading other replies.

Imagine having Paul Heyman on a comedown, Seth Rollins and the Klarna Hoods and the wrong-un Brock Lesnar... and still being able to put together the best bit of wrestling TV I think they've done in what feels like three centuries.

Superb angle. Heyman doing more of his method alcoholism, Lesnar smashing up the Klarna Police, teasing a shit match with Rollins just for it to be whipped away? Good stuff.

You can tell everyone involved knew it was good because you had Oba seemingly buzzing with nervous energy, Brock noticeably calling the 'foot on chest' spot in the ring and Michael Cole being told to do his 'this is actually good, so make sure to swear' schtick.

Holy shit, indeed Michael. A two match Mania, these truly are blessed times.

Yeah that was basically some terrible foreplay unexpectedly turning into the best sex of your life. I'll be watching that on loop all day.

Although that's a shit edit on their YouTube above. Either watch it on Netflix or this seems to be the best one at the moment:

Crowd chanting 'Holy Shit' for Lesnar/Rollins? I can only assume they meant that quite literally. They almost didn't deserve what came after!

They were well into it.

Although whoever put the slight gap in Oba's entrance music needs firing.

I was hoping it was KO.

A much better choice but the wrestling has more than one royal family thing makes ko less likely.

Guess it depends how it's taken. Orton could've just been talking about his own family in theory.
