bono
The rules in my borough Sandwell now are obscene, through this whole pandemic theve said outdoors is the least risk of the virus spreading . But now they are saying I can meet up in a rammed pub with 5 other people but I can’t have my parents in my garden . The rules are that ridiculous now most people won’t follow them. The whole test system is an absolute shambles , the only way to get on top of this virus is testing , we weren’t prepared in March and we aren’t prepared now . The fools were saying they will be testing ten million a day by Xmas now they can’t even do 200k . is there anything theve done right during this whole pandemic? Awards Moderator HarmonicGenerator Posted September 16, 2020 Awards Moderator Share Posted September 16, 2020 It’s sounding likely that the whole north east is heading for a local lockdown, which I hope doesn’t happen. Work is a nightmare as it is without more restrictions, I’d rather another nationwide lockdown than all the confusion and worry.
Stinky Dad
North West too. We’ve had a briefing in work. Expected Friday.
Paid Members Your Fight Site Posted September 17, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted September 17, 2020 There seems to be talk that the councils have requested it (for tomorrow), but nothing concrete. If it goes ahead, are they literally going to announce it minutes before it goes ahead and expect people to comply with it?

patiirc
I'm expecting full lock down in Lancs very shortly. 100 per 100000 in Preston alone. Yeah, back to lockdown it is..
Paid Members Your Fight Site Posted September 17, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted September 17, 2020 I had a horrible thought earlier today. This mess of handling Covid-19 restrictions, numbers going back up, regional lockdowns being introduced; it’s not going to be able to go on for long. People are already going, “These rules are stupid, I’m not going to pay heed to them”. If enough people take that attitude, then it’s going to make these “lockdowns” useless. Does this then play into Boris Johnson’s hands and give him scope for “I told you so” over the Tory’s “herd immunity” plan? “We’ve spent months going in and out of lockdown, it’s not worked, so now it’s time to get on with life, and let the virus take its course…”
Vamp
It's been hinted to me that the council I work for are thinking about how they might staff another Covid hub. I'm in Greater London. For various reasons I won't go into, that's ringing alarm bells about how bad things are expected to get.
Paid Members Jazzy G Posted September 17, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted September 17, 2020 A friend of mine said the Tories re just trying to privatise socialising. You can meet all the people you want as long as somebody turns a profit from it.
Paid Members quote the raven Posted September 17, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted September 17, 2020 How far are we lagging behind the likes of Spain and France, Germany in our testing? It’s fast looking like they didn’t have enough lab techs to process them. Something that must have been known about surely

It’s fast looking like they didn’t have enough lab techs to process them. Something that must have been known about surely It’s almost irrelevant for a number of reasons, but we are counting the number of tests sent out/applicants for drive thru tests, not the actual number of tests being done. So as an example our daughter had a temperature last Monday. No appointments so tests sent in the post. Later on we were told via the helpline as her temperature was 37.3 it wasn’t Coronavirus because it wasn’t 38. When the tests arrived it was clear it was just a minor cold as her temperature had gone and no other symptoms at present. So we have, but not taken the tests. That’s 4 tests counted last Monday that haven’t been used as yet. So the numbers from the Tories are over inflated. Also, the schools stance was keep her home until she’s better or tests negatively.
