Merzbow Posted February 9, 2025 Posted February 9, 2025 They missed a trick by not making it mushroom flavor. I saw these are doing to be in Aldi from the 13th, I'm curious. Quote
Paid Members FLips Posted February 9, 2025 Paid Members Posted February 9, 2025 Aldi have some mad ones in currently. They have a Korean BBQ ribs one which was really nice, but the other two flavours in the same bin were Hot Dog and Onion which were rancid, and Corn on the Cob, which I didn't get because they sound either disgusting or flavourless with no inbetween. Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted February 9, 2025 Moderators Posted February 9, 2025 I definitely wouldn't have bought corn on the cob for the exact same reason but I wish you had so you could tell us. Oh well. We'll have to wait for @SuperBacon to try them and report back! Quote

Oh well. We'll have to wait for @SuperBacon to try them and report back! I had the corn on the cob ones, they were pretty nice. Were slightly reminiscent of a sweetcorn fritter but i probably wouldn't have been able to guess the taste. Certainly not offensive though. Quote
Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted February 9, 2025 Moderators Posted February 9, 2025 In personal crisp news.. Tesco had Cofresh jalapeno grills in today in the Eid section, after not having heat them for a while so I stocked up. Ramadan kareem! Quote
Paid Members Thunderplex Posted February 10, 2025 Paid Members Posted February 10, 2025 Had the Aldi Corn on the Cob crisps today. Tasted quite cheesey, but didn’t get a sweetcorn taste from them. Finished a large bowl so must of liked them. Quote
Paid Members Statto Posted February 10, 2025 Paid Members Posted February 10, 2025 I'll also give the Aldi Corn on the Cob a rating of "eh, not bad". The limited (I assume) Hot Dog & Mustard and Cheeseburger Pringlesalikes they've got in at the moment are bloody lovely though. My locker at work is filled with them. Quote
Members SuperBacon Posted February 10, 2025 Members Posted February 10, 2025 Me hearing about all these Aldi crisps: Me knowing I can't get to an Aldi this week: Some recent ones I've enjoyed. Lays Gourmet Thai Sweet Chilli Not a fan of that flavour normally but these were fantastic. Quite a kick of heat to them, but a tiny bag so that was disappointing. 7/10 Herrs Honey Cheese Curls Herrs are absolute quality, probably my favourite brand at the moment, just good big cheesy wotsits. 8/10 Also I've eaten the usual million packs of Crunchips and Burts as the work canteen have started stocking them ffs. I had a pack of Hanoi Beef Pho Lays as well but they were so disappointing, I was gutted for days. A while ago I thought I might be getting bored of crisps, but then I realised I just needed to grow up. Quote
Cousin Jim Bob Posted February 10, 2025 Posted February 10, 2025 The Aldi Hot and Spicy Party Mix are very nice. They do them in a multi bag 6 pack too, which seems a bit rare for a party mix. So you can try and show some restraint and not eat one whole big bag in one go. Which is my usual problem with party mix. Quote

I'd have to say M&S Salt & Black Pepper mix is the greatest, followed very closely by the Co-op Sour Cream and Chive party mix. Both leave an excellent dust crust which I know @air_raid appreciates. At the moment I'm trying to eat a bit better and not make the doctor so mad. So having a party mix in multibag form is pretty handy. Edited February 10, 2025 by Cousin Jim Bob Quote

Sour Cream & Chive is definitely my language. Been cheating on m&s pretzels with Penn State again. Quote
Ro_y Disco Posted February 11, 2025 Posted February 11, 2025 (edited) Spotted these in Tescos yesterday. Anyone tried them? Weird that they're just 'Vinegar'. Salt & Vinegar on Doritos seems wrong, but S&V is the best crisp flavour, so really want to try these. Edited February 11, 2025 by Ro_y Disco I'm an absolute knob Quote

Edit: actually Tezzas looks like a shop and not an abbreviation of Tesco but clarification please Roy! Edited February 11, 2025 by SuperBacon Sainos Quote

Taste wise they're not bad at all with an unexpected kick of heat, and would be cracking with like a garlic or sour cream type dip, but they get to the point where the texture/flavour feels like it's so sharp your losing tastebuds/layer of skin if that makes sense? Would have again though! Quote
