Best crisps?

Yes I tried them too. They were very cheesy, then you got a hint of tomato and herbs. I quite liked them but I'm not sure I would get them again as you only get about 50 grams of crisps for your money. I was glad to have tried them through.

My favourites were the Karamucho Hot Chilli flavour and the Calbee Prawn Crackers. The Calbee Hot and Spicy were just ok. I had them last and preferred the Karamucho Hot flavour more. If I had them first might have enjoyed them more I guess.

One to avoid in Lidl is the Festive season Parmesan and Truffle deluxe ones. When I googled them the bloody Google AI thing said they were the most popular. I don't know if I got a bad batch or what but the first taste was of strong cheese and I thought this is alright, then you get hit with an aftertaste of fucking soap. They were foul and went in the bin. Last time I take crisps advice from AI.

I can second this. We did a taste testing thing at work last week for a bit of fun and these won with an average of 8.5

Second place was M&S's Hot Honey Pigs in Blankets. Nice flavour, little bit of spice.

These weren't bad; very moreish, and a unique flavour when you think about it. But it just makes for a slightly richer-tasting ready salted flavour, and I'm not sure that's worth the extra expense.

Bret's are probably best for their unique flavours, like Tartiflette, Camembert, Goat's Cheese & Espelette Pepper, Blue Cheese & Pancetta, and Blue Cheese of Auvergne. Their Honey Mustard is good too. Those are all strong-tasting, and don't really have anything comparable on the market.

I had the M&S Boxing Day Turkey Curry crisps which were really nice but tasted neither of turkey or curry.

They were very similar to the old chilli flavoured McCoys, which were a great crisp. They are ridged though so lose a point. 7/10

Obviously picked up 3x bags of Salt & Black Pepper Combo Mix as well, as they're the GOAT and I'm not back there until Monday.

Finally got the Aldi Black Truffle, my local didn't have them but another shop in town did!

They're £1 cheaper than M&S and you can kinda tell, still nice but there's a stronger and slight artificial taste to the flavouring. A solid potato crisp like all Aldi ones seem to be though.

Honey Glazed Roast Ham Sensations 

Absolutely fantastic. I don't know what they've done to Sensations recently but they've gone from a 'rarely buy' to 'often buy' and the Mature Cheddar and Chilli Chutney ones are my current faves. 

This is just a great ham crisp with some sweetness but not too much. 9/10

Seabrook Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pudding

Obviously these taste nothing like Yorkshire Pudding, but they're an OK beef crisp if that's your thing, but you're better off just buying a 6 pack of Steak McCoys (and yes eating all 6 in one go) 5/10

Also, anyone else attracted to the Aunt Bessie logo? Nope, me neither!

They do these in the regular size bags as part of meal deals too. I wish they did the other Sensations as well.

My Lidl still has some Japanese crisps in the random food isle I've not tried. These were fantastic.

I think they might be even better than the regular Calbee prawn crackers tbh. Everything I've tried from Calbee has been good to great.  Calbee do not mess about and they make for incredible beer snacks.

I also tried the Aldi Black Truffle Christmas crisps that @RedTwoster recommended and really liked them. They are a million miles above Lidl's Parmesan and Black Truffle crisps. Which almost put me off Truffle flavour anything for life.

Picked up a pack on your recommendation @Cousin Jim Bob, I’ve not tried the original version but I really enjoy black pepper on a crisp. They’re really nice, and I’ll definitely be picking up more of these. Cheers for that!

That's very much the Marisa Tomei version of Aunt Bessie. She used to be about twice that age, right?
