Paid Members FLips Posted November 10, 2024 Paid Members Posted November 10, 2024 The Piledriver spot also reiterates that WWE operate inside their own bubble too. When we have other mainstream companies doing piledrivers often, it looks stupid when someone else in another company does a really bad looking one and they pretend it's career threatening. Quote
Snitsky's back acne Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 Everything is perception and presentation with wrestling. If you present something as dangerous and different then it becomes that, even if it's not. It's like people on here saying 'Rock would never come back for a match a dangerous as War Games' when, in reality, it is no more or less dangerous than a regular match. It has been presented as being so, however, and therefore this has become the accepted reality. Quote

Wrong. It only becomes that if it's believable and logical enough for the audience to accept. And while wrestling fans can be fickle, most of them don't blindly accept everything they are presented with. Quote

The audience know it's a work, they will accept the storyline. It's all fine. The only ones kicking up a stink are those like yourself that seem desperate to pick holes in anything WWE are doing. Mr Butternut Squash Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 I hate strecher angles but it was cool to see a piledriver sold like death. Thought the commentary team did a good job selling it too. Bloodline stuff is good but has the feeling of them rushing through the beats before The Rock turns up to rip up the script. Quote

DavidB6937 Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 I think it's fair if some people didn't buy into the piledriver stuff. Just like I think it's fair people like myself did enjoy it and thought it worked well. Neither opinion has to be driven by an agenda or company bias. Quote

Paid Members Supremo Posted November 10, 2024 Paid Members Posted November 10, 2024 Not that I’ve finally mopped up all the jizz, as good as that ending was, it’s this shot that’s stayed with me. Absolute magic. Incredible performers, shot beautifully, performing the best storyline in the history of the company. Boom concentrate. Quote
OzExile Posted November 11, 2024 Posted November 11, 2024 Already looking beyond all the current possible and probable storylines, I would love nothing more than a callback of Evolution's double cross of Randy Orton when Sami finally wins the big gold. His chemistry with Roman is like nothing else on the roster. Quote

It’s not about the execution looking deadly it’s the fallout and aftermath. One shit piledriver and a neck brace has more effect on my dumb brain than Canadian Destroyers on aprons and atomic piledrivers from the top turnbuckle. AEW did a middle rope piledriver and put MJF in a neck brace for weeks after just 2 months ago. YES IT WAS FROM THE MIDDLE ROPE, I am just pointing out the argument that one does stupid spots with no real long lasting impact and the other one doesn't because it's rare is silly tribal bollocks. Owen's Piledriver looked shit PURELY because of the angle it was filmed at. Had they used the hardcam or an angle from behind, we wouldn't be having any discourse. Quote
