Hulk Hemsworth

I know it’s been mentioned in the ‘wrestling biopics’ thread, but if Paige’s film gets its own thread, Hogan’s film deserves one.

For those who haven’t seen, Chris Hemsworth will be playing Hulk Hogan in a biopic of the Hulkster. Directed by Todd Phillips of Old School and The Hangover fame, with Bradley Cooper and Hogan himself on board as producers.

It’s reportedly going to focus on the early years, ignoring the whole sex tape/caught out as a racist/Hogan Knows Best period. So what’s getting covered? Where do they end it? Will WrestleMania III be the closing set piece as Live Aid was for Bohemian Rhapsody? How many hundreds of thousands of extras will they need to replicate the moment the four-ton Andre was instantly killed by a slam?

Most importantly, how coked out of his head can Hemsworth make himself look for the 80s sections?

Bradley Cooper was rumoured to play Vince anyway so that seems really likely now. Who can play Andre?

Brad Williams.

If Andre is even in it (they may not even get that far, but they'd be mad not to), it's gotta be Show, right? Right size, good presence, has appeared in plenty of movies, pals with Hulk.

Or maybe they end the movie with Hogan beating Sheik, which in that case there's only one man for the job- somebody that has experience in playing a Middle Eastern wrestler on the silver screen.

Somebody call his mama!

if Hogan has as much say in the casting as he did with his booking then I reckon

Hulk Hogan - Chris Hemsworth
Ed Leslie - Denzel Washington
Metallica - Desmond Dekker And The Aces
The Nasty Boys - Laurence Fishburne & Marlon Wayans
Jimmy Hart - Louis Farrakhan
Linda Hogan - Sidney Poitier
Vince McMahon - Bill Duke
Pat Patterson - Ram John Holder
Andre The Giant - Dennis Rodman

I imagine it ends at him beating Iron Sheik - or some kind of history mash-up where he beats Andre for his first belt. It sounds like they're angling for an origin story, and fighting up to win his first title is a better narrative than meandering around "and then he was on top and beat everyone for years", and saves them forking out for the rights to use a lot of the more recognisable WWF names and trademarks after the fact.

Pretty much a guarantee we see more Hulk in WWE, too.

"Hey, Hulk Hogan here, brother, to tell you about a movie..."
