Moderators neil Posted September 29, 2018 Moderators Share Posted September 29, 2018 The double sausage in batter + large chips was my go to when I was a 21 stone fat fuck. These days I go for the standard cod and chips, but if I'm feeling fancy I'll have plaice. In Waltham Abbey the best place hands down is StarFish...terrible name, excellent chip shop. Last place goes to Upshire - awful. Although if you're that well versed with your Abbey history you may recall Ashleys, now Market Kebabs. Ashleys was fucking awful. wordsfromlee
A lad I work with is from Wigan and there's been a few instances when he's had a "Wigan kebab" for his lunch. Look at that gravy. It's like gloss paint. Delicious.
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted September 30, 2018 Paid Members Share Posted September 30, 2018 Do you know what chippy that is? I'd go all the way to Wigan for gravy of that quality.
Paid Members DEF Posted September 30, 2018 Paid Members Share Posted September 30, 2018 A pie in a roll!?! Now that's innovation. This thread delivers yet again. I regret that I'm just going to have a roll for lunch now.

Paid Members Thunderplex Posted September 30, 2018 Paid Members Share Posted September 30, 2018 The Pie Barm is the best way to eat a pie in the absence of a fork.
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted September 30, 2018 Paid Members Share Posted September 30, 2018 Went to the chippy by my missus' house that i mentioned earlier in the thread for tea the other night. Here's how it looked. Went for the fish and a large chips, id say that's 3/4 of the chips in the picture. Set me back £6.
Retro Red
I'm blaming this thread for tonight's tea. Haddock supper, salt and vinegar and HP for the best and only things that should go near your chips.

I'd love to work in Germany, you can get pissed after work in the week without worrying about a hangover the morning after. Coming from someone who has drunk heavily on a number of occasions in Germany, this is categorically not true. 😂 Edited September 30, 2018 by Chunk
Awards Moderator Onyx2 Posted October 4, 2018 Author Awards Moderator Share Posted October 4, 2018 Went out for a team lunch. Great chip shop called Kennedys (... Kennedy) which has been there since 1877. Purists are going to hate the plate, but we were eating there tbf. Chips were bang on, great chunky things with a crisp edge. This is their £6.50 lunch portion which is reasonable for the area but fuck me if I can't do a jot of work after all those carbs 😴
