So are the women edited out of the shows on Saudi TV?

I would guess. I remember Alundra Blayze and Luna Vachon not being allowed to wrestle on a show in Austria in 1994 due to the countries pornography laws so I would imagine women wrestling each other falls under that umbrella in Saudi Arabia too.

I wonder if this has any adverse affect on the WWE's agreement with them.

Doubt it.  They’re back in November.

25 x 25 survivor series match?!?!

Probably just a strong reminder not to do it again.

One thing the GRR match emphasised to me was how much dead weight WWE has on their roster.
Honestly, the company could ditch probably 30 of the wrestlers in the match and it would make not one bit of difference to the product in my opinion.
Not that some of them aren't talented, just that they are clearly making up the numbers in WWE.

They need people making up the numbers, otherwise the more important guys would just wrestle each other more frequently and the show would become even blander and more repetitive than it currently is.

Okay, that's a good point.

I know circumstances obviously dictated it but the GRR match just made me realise how many of those wrestlers they have.

I am shocked that WWE with the money they were allegedly paid would make a balls up.and show any of the women or promos in the arena. I even wondered if those backstage rumble hype promos were going out to the arena as I didn't hear any pop at all. Plus Jericho had a crucifix on his scarf and Mysterio had a typical one on his outfit which I found surptising. I'm not sure on Saudi law for religious symbology but I know from teacher friends in the region you have to be careful with wearing anything along those lines.

It was a decent show. The Rumble was fun as always, the right guy won and Bryan still looked great in it too.

Assuming Braun is going to take it from him at Summerslam, and although it is arse backwards because they should have just scrapped their previous match and done that at Mania if Reigns wasn't gonna win, it is the right call.

Austrian pornography laws? They only outlawed noncery in 1994.

Apparently the live crowd even booed when the female violinist was shown on Nakamura’s tron. It isn’t just women’s wrestling they have a problem with, it’s women in general.

Next time they should have Balor come out in his LGBT gear and then we’d really get to see how “progressive and liberal” Jeddah is.

When I watch WWE PPV's these days it just strikes me how I feel most wrestlers just go through the motions. I mean that in a couple of ways.

Matches seem so choreographed spot by spot now more than ever. It doesn't even look like a wrestling match, I feel the heat drops because it's so over rehearsed looking. Brock's matches might not necessarily fall into that category, but as everyone knows he has the same match all the time, and we've seen him wrestle Reigns more than enough, and I just find it boring.

And in a way I feel the same about the Rumble. I know we've had loads over the years, but they're must be fresh ways to book one. It's the same spots we know are going to happen, the plucky underdog lasting forever, the surprise entrant (sumo guy) coming out and being eliminated without anything of note, everyone queuing up to take RKO's upon Orton's arrival. I mean, it wasn't bad, but I just feel it wasn't really worth the watch either.

You'd be surprised at the disconnect some countries have between porn and noncery legislation. Saudi Arabia's actually a good case in point: porn is illegal, but there's no age of consent - sex is only illegal outside marriage, with no provision of minimum age. There are a lot of child brides.

Without meaning to sound like some conspiracy nut, but I'm really dubious that they accidentally showed that trailer with women in. They've been meticulous so far in abiding by the very straight rules that the Saudis set out about no women.  Everything is planned down to the minute in these shows.  I think they did it deliberately, knowing they'd get away with it as it was a live broadcast.  I reckon they understand that they've received very negative mainstream press over this, and this was a carny way of a nod and a wink to that.

Incidentally, in the footage I saw of it, the crowd reacted pretty positively to Carmella.  Reminds you that the Saudi people and their regime don't necessarily share the same opinions.
