The Day the Earth Blew Up was really good so I'm hoping this will be of similar quality.

Still wild that they were happy to shelve it like some tax right off. It's not typically my kind of film but it looks pretty decent.

I read an article about it recently, and everybody quoted said something along the lines of “I was so upset when I found out / I thought nobody would ever get to see it and that was shit”.

Apart from John Cena whose response was something like “as a company, you need to identify the most opportune tax circumstances and I support that. On to the next thing.”

You can take the Cena out of WWE…

I’ve found the article. Including the two quotes before Cena’s as well, just to further demonstrate how warped the big robot is.

Lana Condor: I had told Dave that I wanted to base Paige on my mom. Because my mom is very optimistic and incredibly curious. So that’s what I did. Then, two years ago, I lost my mom. To not be able to share the film with her was devastating.

Will Forte: this was a movie I wanted to share with my kids, because I don’t do a lot of those, you know? I do a lot of gross adult movies full of swearing where I’m showing my butt and stuff. So it was especially heartbreaking for that reason.

John Cena: I think my perspective was different – I was very understanding of the decision. When the owner of a product says, “I need to take this as a tax deferment asset,” I say, “Okay. Not the explanation I wanted to hear, but a good explanation. Time to climb the next hill.””

Sounds like a man who spent a lot of time working in an environment where, even as the main man, he had to learn to eat shit and like the taste.

I feel like there's no way this film can be good...but also I really want to see it.

I read the book last summer. It is ridiculous and has too many convenient flashbacks but it’s a fun under-pressure-time-running-out read. I think there’s potential for the film to be a great edge of your seat affair, I’m looking forward to it. However I’m a person who thought Buried with Ryan Reynolds was ace, so take that for what it’s worth.

It's the sort of daft gimmick, 'one location' thriller I love to stick on when my brain can't handle thinking about anything too much. I'll definitely go and see it.

Street Fighter movie looks absolutely awful, but also looks like it knows it is. I might have to go and see it.

Saw this on my visit to the cinema today, my son wants to see it because he thinks it's Horrible Histories. Tbf it's quite good knowing we will go to the cinema for something I want to see (did today with Coyote vs Acme)

With regards to Street Fighter, I understand movies with tiny budgets kind of revelling in their shitness due to limitations, but a movie costing hundreds of millions shouldn't be shit. Why purposely spend that money making a dire movie? I'm taking the same view as the mid 90s, just watch Street Fighter II the movie and don't bother with this one.

Fuck yes.

I thought they'd put a weird filter on her face for a second, she looks like one of those weird AI caricatures. I reckon this could be excellent though.

Yeah I cant make it to the cinema much these days, but 2 films I might have to make a trip for, this new Nathan Fielder, and the John Wilson History of Concrete
