Movie Trailer Thread

It looks fine I guess. But my main reaction was just "...why?". I just don't see the point. To me those films are Leslie Nielsen films and without him I don't care because no one will ever be better at it than him. Why would I want to watch a lesser version?

Absolutely mental that when we were all younger we'd be aghast at missing the trailers in the cinema for example, now I can't think of anything worse.

I think I've probably watched 1 in 10 years (of my own will, obviously I see them at the cinema), really don't see the point anymore.

Yeah, I'm the same. Can't remember the last trailer I willingly watched. Even when I'm at the cinema I'll be on my phone until the trailers finish.

Not sure if that's breaking the wanky Code of Conduct or whatever but I'm very well behaved during the actual film, I promise.

A good trailer can sometimes be a work of art on its own. I'll happily watch trailers for everything, you can usually tell by how much the show whether the film will be any good or not. The good films tend to hold back in their trailers while the shit films will give you everything.

Disagree that you can draw that correlation. Often trailers are cut by someone who doesn't have any real connection with the making of the film on a marketing brief. You get good films with shit trailers all the time.

Quick heads up - anyone who hasn't read the book DO NOT WATCH the trailer for Project Hail Mary.

If you have read the book you'll know why I'm saying this even if you haven't watched the trailer yet..

If you've never caught any of Anders Thomas Jensen's films, I recommend them all even though the humour in them will absolutely not be for everybody. Just cannot wait for this, he's one of my favourite directors.

Bollywood and South Indian cinema crossover again, in what is a growing trend. There's heavy use of CGI in this futuristic retelling of the Mahabharata saga. Bollywood giant Amitabh Bachan must have spent many hours in front of a green screen. I'll have to track this down.
