Someone will have to remind me why the kid was called Cadfael though I thought it was "Bumgull"? Either way, that was fucking funny.

Awards Moderator Onyx2 Posted September 18, 2017 Awards Moderator Share Posted September 18, 2017 Growing up we used to call the old guy over the road Stunt Cadfael owing to the shiny mop with bald middle.
cobra_gordo
TIL Face Off was originally written with Schwarzenegger and Stalone in mind as the leads. I don't think my brain can comprehend how awesome that would have been,
Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted September 19, 2017 Moderators Share Posted September 19, 2017 I'd happily lose travolta for either of them, but Cage was great.
Paid Members Surf Digby Posted September 21, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted September 21, 2017 Today I learned that the theme to Button Moon was sung by Peter Davison and his wife, Sandra Dickinson. I'm absolutely astounded that I didn't already know this, especially when you consider how old I was when he the Fifth Doctor.
Paid Members BigJag Posted September 22, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted September 22, 2017 Wow! Button moon. One of my most fondly remembered kids TV shows. That theme tune brings warm feelings to the fore. Thanks for reminding us of it.
Undefeated Steak
If you're sailing in the middle of the ocean, you're further from people on land than you would be as an astronaut on the international space station. Pretty obvious considering the ISS is only orbiting at about 250 miles, but it was underwhelming realising that fact as a space nerd. Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted December 13, 2017 Moderators Share Posted December 13, 2017 Coming off the back of watching Blue Planet 2, I find that a cool fact to illustrate the vastness of the oceans.
Undefeated Steak
Absolutely, Chest. It's the wonder of the unknown that's always appealed to me regarding space. No different from our oceans. No matter how much we learn about them we'll never be able to comprehend the sheer scale of what's there.
Guest
Blue Planet 2, especially the last one, was pretty devastating for showing just how joyfully undiscovered much of the ocean is and yet how ruthlessly we're fucking it up at the same time. Is it shown in America, by any chance? Can we all chip in for ad space to put it on after Fox & Friends?
Really Big Shoe
It's coming to BBC America http://www.bbcamerica.com/anglophenia/2017/02/blue-planet-ii-is-coming-to-bbc-america
