Yeah Seinfeld has used that skier comparison in the past as well, it's not a new metaphor for him, and I kinda don't really care to an extent anyway (not a dig at you, just not that invested in his opinion on things). The video was a good watch for me because it presents an interesting analysis as to why they think he said what he said when he did, in the context of his personality and other stuff going on in his life. I'm a sucker for a bit of armchair psychoanalysis made entertaining.

Went to see Bill Bailey Thoughtifier this evening, at the Theatre Royal in Haymarket. Great fun - moves seamlessly between stories and music. Played something like twelve different instruments - including a bouzouki saz, which was made by the same guy who made my brand new mandolin. Gorgeous sound.

Stories of getting stoned in Amsterdam, his wife winding up phone scammers, and some lovely audience participation. Also a spectacular near-finale with a laser harp (yes). And a very touching encore (will not spoil).

If you can get tickets, go. Definitely a good evening out.

I've seen Bill Bailey live twice before with my friend Sarah, and both times he was fantastic. Might try and keep an eye out. 

Not sure whether it goes in here, but I went to Carry On: An Audience With Mark & Lard tonight. They were being loosely interviewed by their ex newsreader Phil Williams, who more just kept things moving along with a couple of questions here and there. It was a cracking show. The whole room was in fits of laughter. They talked through their careers together, played some classic clips from the shows, told some anecdotes about how they came up with some of the stuff and got away with it, also did a couple of Shirehorses songs. Well worth going to. I had a great seat as well. Slap bang in the middle of the front row on the balcony circle.

One of my favourite ever moments on their show was once when they had to play Chop Suey by System of a Down and when it ended they were just howling with laughter and asking what the hell was that. Part of the fun was them taking the piss out of some of the playlist crap they had to play.

Saw Nina Conti at Manchester Opera House last night. Genuinely one of the funniest stand up sets I've ever seen but also incredibly clever just from a technical perspective. How she manages to improv the whole show, create characters for members of the audience on the fly, remember the voices for them and even do stuff like laugh as their character is enough to impress me, before you get to the fact that she's very, very funny and quick witted. Bonus marks for it finishing at half 9. I'd love to see her again.

Leicester Comedy festival starts on Feb 5th.Are there any recommended acts on the list? I had planned on going to the WiFi Wars show.

I've been to a few of the Leicester shows in the past. They are usually at small venues, bars/function rooms. Remember seeing the presenter of Storage Wars one year. There was even a stand up who based his set around pro wrestling. He gave everyone his WWE Network password at the end of the show.

Nina Conti is on the schedule. She'll be at the De Montfort Hall. Which is the largest Theatre venue in Leicester. Will add that to the list of options.

I saw Harry Hill tonight. Haven't seen him live in twenty years and he's relentless. It's billed as a greatest hits and silly bits tour, I recognised about 50% from old sets. Just as silly, just as smart, just as knowing. My face hurts so much from laughing.
