Michael_3165 Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 I think the problem with PS (yes I do still get it mostly) is the fact that it is so short, pull of pictures instead of articles and the allocation of pages. There is ALWAYS a round up of the last PPV which takes up a huge chunk. The historical pieces are hit and miss and I just feel that the research and substance of the magazine overall is lacking. They really need to consider extending the length if they are going to continue competing with FSM and the online only magazines popping up (that are actually fairly decent for online magazines). The same old PPV coverage isn't hitting the mark. Quote
Jimmy Boy Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 (edited) Fin must be bored with it. I have no idea how much he makes from it, but there must be times he wishes he could just switch off completely from wrasslin, or at least from the responsibility of writing the chunkier articles month in month out and having overall responsibility for bringing it all together. I still buy Power Slam, have done for over 17 years, but for the first time ever I've yet to read the current issue weeks after buying it. In the pre-internet days getting Power Slam was the highlight of many months! I've never bought FSM, my perception from this forum was it was (at least historically) a glorified fanzine. However I appreciate that may not longer be the case, but I don't want to spend 3/4 quid to read about some local promotions and locker room etiquette. For what it's worth I'd guess Fin is in the same boat as many of us; trying to find a reason to stay interested. You can look at his online accounts on company check! His business account isn't doing too shabbily http://companycheck.co.uk/director/908876206 Edited November 13, 2013 by Jimmy Boy Quote
LEGIT Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Another "Fin" here. I was Fin too for a while, then Mo for even longer. To be fair, most people just throw the names around for a laugh. I buy the mag every month and always enjoy it, that's it. I don't agree with a lot of stuff that's written. But their interviews are always good. I enjoy their history of PPV articles. The news is still relevant to me; I only really watch WWE but like to stay up to date with the rest. The people saying "Hi Fin" are being as obnoxious as what they say Fin is. I buy and enjoy the mag, and plenty of other people do, just because you don't like it doesn't mean no-one can. Happy days Quote

But what you said works too. Quote

Paid Members IANdrewDiceClay Posted November 13, 2013 Paid Members Posted November 13, 2013 I bought Power Slam this month. Quite enjoyed it. The TNA article was excellent and the X-Pac interview was worth the money itself. Its rare you get that from the mag these days, though. You can have a run of issues where there isn't much in it of value. Stanley is class these days as well. Quote
LEGIT Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Aww, you've ruined it now, Mo. Nah listen, I know it's a carry on for most folk. We call a gay guy in my work Susan all the time. I'd rather be Mo than Susan, you know? Some people seemed to honestly think I was Mo Chatra though, at one point. My last paragraph was meant for them, it's a bit obnoxious. Quote

I've considered transcribing it for Butch anyone that might be interested in what Pac has to say that neglected to buy the mag, now the new one is on the shelves. Yakashi Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 This month Fins comedy John Cena remark was about how he destroyed Damien Sandows push and that Sandow is now just another Cena victim. He's just writing this stuff to take the piss out of you lot now surely!! Quote

Push? Oh, he means working the pre-show for the past two PPVs. Rubbing shoulders with Cena was the most relevant (and impressive) Sandow has looked in a long time. Quote

Nope by you lot I meant the people who bash him all the time. Just a general term. It's so ludicrous, as stated above by punkstep, that he must be doing it with a nod and a wink these days! Quote
Vamp Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 This month Fins comedy John Cena remark was about how he destroyed Damien Sandows push and that Sandow is now just another Cena victim. Push? Oh, he means working the pre-show for the past two PPVs. Rubbing shoulders with Cena was the most relevant (and impressive) Sandow has looked in a long time. But he lost to Cena. CENA. Cena only knows like five and a half moves. And all of them are shit. Quote
gold76 Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 It was a great match though, the crowd were really into it "this is awesome" bodes well for Sandow imvho Quote
