Absolutely incredible.  I've been bawling like a baby on and off for the past hour and Ozzy's "this will be our last song for... ever" completely pushed me over the edge.  What an absolutely beautiful (yet heartbreaking at the same time) experience.  Ozzy and Sabbath did themselves proud tonight, and I couldn't be happier for them.  And as a celebration of the genre I doubt we'll see anything like this ever again.  Such a special evening. 

Not that it really matters but I thought Metallica, Gojira and Pantera were the standouts on the undercard.  I didn’t really think much of either of the supergroup ensembles, and Guns n Roses (or Axl, to be more specific) sounded terrible in places.  Similarly I thought William Duvall sounded off for Alice in Chains.  It's been a few years since I've seen them live so I don't know if he was just having a bad day or if his voice has changed, but he sounded a step below how I remember him.

I’ve not watched yet but someone has uploaded what looks to be a very good quality video of the GnR set (minus It’s Alright I believe). My friend watched and said Axl sounded terrible and was way too in front of the rest of the band during Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, but seen others say he was great.

Either way, I can’t wait to start watching videos from the show. Glad to hear that Ozzy sounded really good as well.

Apparently in the programme notes Ozzy left open the possibility that he'll not be retiring from music completely, just from live performances.

I hope so. Because of all his 'antics' over the years, I think its easy to forget what a talent he (still) is - plus he has one of THE iconic voices. As long as he can still sing, I hope he does in whatever format that takes.

Genuinely happy other people enjoyed it, but I'm completely numb to the sheer formatting of stuff like Back to the Beginning. It's like watching one of those 2010s quick cut, overproduced, "Let's get absolutely everybody on this and have a small taste of everything" WrestleManias where you're looking forward to a nice, normal show afterwards. There's a bizarre ceiling to the kind of  energy in a circle pit where everyone in it has a wrist band that costs a mad amount of money and my weird brain just can't engage with it all as an actual gig. 

Especially when the grand architect presiding over matters in the wings is someone who calls for having other creative artists visas revoked. 

I do love Ozzy Osbourne and I dearly hope he spends the rest of his years sitting on that cool goth throne having the time of his life doing his paintings with their dozen chihuahuas crawling all over him.

I loved Jason Mamoa jumping into the crowd during Pantera's set and starting a circle pit. He was having a whale of a time.

You must all try and track down the Supergroup playing Whole Lotta Love. Other than Ozzy/Sabbath that was the highlight of the day by far, absolutely incredible!

Feel so lucky to have been there in person. Such a long day in those tiny seats but man it was worth it.  I cried when Ozzy first started singing, just got completely swept up in the moment. Amazing day and amazing memories

Nuno Bettencourt was the star of the show for me. Best decision Tom Morello made on the supergroup side of things

I think it's going to be something remembered for a long time in metal circles, but I think it'll have an impact beyond that. Watching the stream intermittently, you could see a model of how acts may say goodbye in the future.

With so many artists reaching the end of the road you could easily see how you take this concept and attach it to McCartney at Anfield, the Stones in London, Springsteen in New Jersey and on and on.

I am a physically and emotionally broken wreck of a man after yesterday. A 22 hour day, stood up for 14 of them, so packed in at the front that moving was pretty much out of the question. Didn't eat because it wasn't an option and managed only two pisses all day which was somehow a miracle.

What. A. Day. It felt like a generational moment, an I Was There experience like I'll never go through again. The golden circle had to be done and I'm so glad I spent the extra to be at the front. Made friends, had a great time and cried during Sabbath (and not because of the sight of Bill Wards molerat physique and tits).

I got to see ten of my biggest guitar influences on one stage. Lost my mind when I saw Nuno's guitar at the side of the stage as he wasn't an announced guest but he was the MVP of the whole day. Stood right infront of Tony and Zakk and Jerry and Scott and James and Slash and Jake and Kirk and Kerry, beaming.

I lost my voice belting out to Lamb Of God, Alice In Chains, Slayer, Metallica, Ozzy and Sabbath and I don't give a fuck. I booed the fuck out of that cunt David Draiman too and got elbowed in the back for it. No regrets.

I got to see Stephen Tyler being PHENOMENAL. Yungblood was a genuine surprise at how good he covered Changes.

The atmosphere just built all day. It went interstellar for Slayer and never came back down.

Guns N Roses were musically great but Axl is so bad it's stopped being funny, it's just bleak.

Metallica are just the best, everything sounded massive. Ozzy and Sabbath's sets were really emotional and the times I lost it were just thinking to myself "This is really it, isn't it". 

It was a fucking privilege to be there and I'm kinda proud at myself to have been able to have afforded to go "fuck it" and be in the front section. You've come a long way baby.

Still not come down and not sure when I will.

What a show, that was special! 
 

Day didn’t get off to a great start, I was meant to get a train at 8am but my neighbours had a house party and I couldn’t sleep so didn’t end up managing to sleep until 7am so got up at 9 and got a train at 10:30. Still managed to get to the venue in time and in our seats with a beer before mastodon started. 
 

I thought the whole thing was so well done, I loved these quick sets with a fast turn around. Never seen Gojira before but they have made a fan of me, thought they were amazing! Pantera and Slayer really took it up a notch and made it feel big! 
 

As soon as Ozzy came out I lost it and started crying like a baby through his whole set. Managed to get it together for sabbath only to lose it again during paranoid. I thought they sounded great, yeah he probs had some help but Ozzy still sounded great. You could see how much it meant to them, what an amazing send off to one of the most important bands to ever exists.

It'll probably end up on youtube, but i'd expect torrent sites will have it up for download today.

I would imagine the full thing will be on torrent sites within the next couple of days, but there’s bits & bobs of it on YouTube already, including Sabbath’s full set

The 48hrs thing must be something g to do with publishings rights, otherwise I can’t get my head around why they wouldn’t make it available for longer. Don’t be surprised to see a DVD/BluRay release somewhere down the line, maybe not the entire show again due to certain rights but probably the majority of it
