UK Hardcore is having a nightmare once again, this time the band Blade turn up to a gig with... a blade! Just to settle some petty beef with an older band who supposedly just fucked them up regardless of carrying a weapon. The scene is falling apart as much as it's on the rise, like me and many around here are no longer going to Birmingham/Coventry hardcore gigs because they're ran by complete bigots.

Shit that.

Are you clued up on the scene at all Merbow? Any recommendations? Apart from seeing the odd band added to a bill to open i'm not really familiar with much modern day UKHC.

I can't recommend Flesh Creep and Stiff Meds enough, both have more of a grown up sound than a lot of the beat down stuff around and I know the former pretty well and they're lovely.

Cracking setlist that.

There has been a shocking number of fans moaning about the setlist.

Seems to be a case of people convincing themselves it would be full of rarities based on Bruce saying "we are doing stuff we have never done before" (which was based on the production, not songs)

I honestly cannot imagine getting a set featuring Killers, The Clairvoyant, Phantom of the Opera, Powerslave, Rime of the Ancient Mariner, Seventh son of a Seventh son and STILL moaning about it.

Small but loud minority, you always get them. “Wah! KISS didn’t play anything from ‘Music From The Elder’ at their final  show, don’t they care about the FANZ~!”

The majority of people at shows just want the hits. There’s probably a chunk of any audience that only has a ‘best of’ rather than the entire back catalogue, and that’s fine. They’re not out to please the minority

Is it truly a gig if a group of people are being vocally against the setlist? There'll always be some people who'd be upset "but they didn't play my favourite b-side cover version!" or some nonsense rather than just enjoying the show put on.

The ‘livestream’ for the Sabbath show was confirmed yesterday.

£25 with show airing on a 2hr delay (starts at 3pm), OnDemand replays available following the conclusion of the show up until 3pm on July 7th.

A two day window to watch a show that’s likely to be around 9 or 10 hours is a bit of a shitty move. I’ll almost certainly be working one of the days after it, so no chance of cramming it all in

I think I'll just wait for it to inevitably turn up on YouTube or Dailymotion. It would be cool to stream it, but if it's not even live then £25 feels pretty steep.

Somebody in the Damnation Festival group on Facebook put a post up a bit ago saying some more tickets for the Sabbath gig had been put on sale. I've managed to bag a golden circle standing ticket, after trying four times on the various presales earlier in the year and convincing myself that "Nah, it'll be shit anyway" when I didn't get one.

I'm now flitting between trying not to have a panic attack, cry and berating myself for dropping four hundred quid on a gig ticket. An unusually sporadic decision on my part. Very nearly didn't buy it, looked at the poster again and went fuck it.

I think I'm going to be sick.
