Pretty much "nope'd" before even checking prices as I know I can't afford it but would have been cool to see Knocked Loose open, I know certain kinds will complain about them being there but they're super over right now.

The London dates are very close to my 40th birthday, so I'm tempted but also I don't think I can justify £200 for a ticket, which I assume is likely to be the going rate.

Looking on the Metallica website it's £400 for early access standing tickets which covers both shows and a couple of perks so I'd assume £150-£170 for bog stanard general access standing. Think it was around £800 for snake pit for both shows.

I would love to go to that but my child is due the week before so I doubt the wife would be best pleased. The one and only time I saw Cave In was when they supported Foo Fighters in about 2003 and they blew me away. I'd never heard of them before but I've been a fan ever since.

The last time I saw them was with Old Man Gloom at the Ballroom and it was immense.

I reckon I bought Jupiter off the back of a 5 K Kerrang review, without even knowing who they were or having heard them. Absolutely love that album.

I saw them in a tiny club on the last UK tour, they were great. Weirdly, ive never really listened to Jupiter, when I first got into Cave In, Antenna was coming out, i got that and Until Your Heart Stops but Jupiter was hard to find on CD back then. Followed and listened to everything since though.

Missed all the Cave In chat! As much as I love Until Your Heart Stops I've only ever seen them live once in March 2006 when they toured with Pelican. It hammered down with snow so all the public transport got cancelled so me and a mate ended up walking from Rotherham to Sheffield in the snow to see them. Ended up on the barrier infront of Caleb who had about the most intimidating stage presence I've ever seen, despite being lovely off it by all accounts. They finished on Juggernaut but I was praying they'd play this-

This has just unlocked a core memory that I'd forgotten, in that I saw them on my own on Valentines Day in 2003 at the Garage, got way too drunk and proposed to an ex girlfriend I saw there in Trafalgar Square on the way home, and then missed the last train, so slept at Waterloo and met my Grandad in the morning to march against the Iraq war on the Saturday absolutely hanging.

Oh young Bacon, you really were an idiot.

Surprisingly only 90 people in front of me in the Metallica presale this morning.

Even more surprised that standing tickets were a mere £123. I know that's a fucking mental amount but given the climate I had expected / feared a lot worse. 

Will be my 10th Metallica show but my first since the extremely rainy one at the Emptyhad in 2019.

I was at that show too. Cave In were great. Million Dead supported and the mic stopped working so Frank Turner just tried to shout the lyrics and messed his voice up. Was it really 22 years ago, Jesus Christ.

I'm guessing as you referred to her as ex-girlfriend and not ex-fiance or wife that the answer was negative?
