2003 sounded too early so I quickly Googled it and it turns out it was 2009:

Turns out she got herself wedged head first down the long drops but didn't actually fully fall in, so maybe the two stories have ended up conflated over the years.

I think it’s happened to varying degrees over the years as it was essentially just a massive hole in the ground (I don’t even want to know what the procedure was to dispose of it), but I can vividly remember it happening the first time it ran at Branham Park in 03. I only went once more (in 2008) and they were still using it then and the usual mixture of phones and sunglasses perished over the weekend but no people that year

Apocryphal tales of this being reversed by accident and hundreds of revellers and tents being sprayed with shit at 6am went round every festival I ever went to.

The person-falling-into-the-longdrop-toilets is a rumour that seems to go around Reading & Leeds every year since I first went in 2003.

It definitely happened in 2003 as they had to close them for around an hour on the Thursday afternoon while the fire brigade were called out to get a girl out. We were camped in the site next to it that year, it was one of the main talking points of the weekend

2006 was the only Download I've been to. It was my first festival in general and I hated it so much I'm surprised it didn't put me off going to any others in future.

Maybe I'm just old and boring but I much prefer indoors festivals, or at least ones with real accommodation to go back to at night. 

Supersonic is my usual but it's looking real weak this year.

I'm with you. I cannot think of anything worse than camping outdoors at a festival these days.

Might be hosting a festival next year with camping, but it's caravan camping!

Me and a mate who does a lot of gig booking had the stupid idea to book a noise fest in Skegness, gonna try a few beach side places to host it. Me was into it the moment I brought it up, be he's also the kinda guy that plays in the most un-noise friendly countries just to say he can.

Got a ticket for Manchester. Saw them ten years ago at No Fun Intended fest in Leeds, but have always managed to miss them since then. Most obviously when I had a ticket for Huddersfield but didn't end up going due to a dying relative...

I don't think it was possible to fall into the piss tank, the holes cut into the seats were way too small to fall through and an arm through probably wouldn't reach the swill. Absolute shocking state of affairs though, the smell was next level. People would camp right next to them too, it was like being in a prisoner of war camp.
