Grebo is very much a Midlands term, I'd never heard it in Yorkshire but I still hear it used in Birmingham

It was an entire genre that was more dance/pop focused than the usual indie scenes at the time, but then later became a catch-all for alternative people when nu-metal really took off.

Pop will Eat Itself still have a pretty big cult following today, always selling good when playing in Brum.

Goths here in Scotland. Didn't matter if they were emos, punks, metal fans or actual goths - they were all goths.

We were "grungers" which considering none of us listened to grunge apart from Nirvana, always struck me as a weird choice.

The 'other lot' were Gazzas and Shazzas, which considering my nickname is Gaz or Gazza, and the fact that I liked garage as well, AND combined massive baggy jeans with Fred Perry shirts (cos I was a bloody LAD) was confusing for some.

Our “other lot” were either Townies or Johnnos, due to any John, Steve, Dean and so on being a Johnno, Stevo, Deano etc.

I was typing up a similar response to this.

Amusing in school in like 2002. Guys into like pop and ska punk with Hawaiian shirts and enormous shorts being called goths.

We used the term Townies in my group which never really made sense as we were the ones just hanging around in town the most, by Godiva statue to be exact.

Have you seen the pwei and stuffies mural type things in Stourbridge? I'm sure there's a Neds one as well but the PWEI and stuffies ones are very eye catching. 

 

As for B2TB it was ace wasn't it, obviously Axl can't sing but everyone else sounded spot on, even the bands that are too heavy for me I can tell they nailed it (Axl Rosebexcepted) Ozzy was ace , there's no point repeating what everyone has already said but it was just so nice that they got do this while they can, it exceeded expectations in every way and by Christ it bought a tear to the eye, loved it. What a way to go out.

I have nothing much to add to the thread but it’s been a pleasure seeing you all have such a great time.

On Rival Sons we got offered free tickets to see them a few days ago in our group chat. Apparently their sales weren’t doing great. We didn’t accept them.
