Moderators Astro Hollywood Posted October 5, 2016 Moderators Share Posted October 5, 2016 I think Westworld was the strongest first episode I've ever seen.
Paid Members PunkStep Posted October 5, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted October 5, 2016 Hard to argue with that Astro, it felt big time. Especially in the closing scenes with the scoring- really added to the superb scene with Anthony Hopkins and the dad. Marked out for the piano version of Black Hole Sun! Merzbow
Better than the first episode of Fargo? Off to the bay of pirates it is.
DavidB6937
Lost will always be my favourite first episode of anything. That was the first time I truly felt something epic from an opener. The first time it felt like TV was taking on movies somehow. Â Obviously there are far better shows around, but for the most memorable and "oh god I HAVE to watch more" opener, it'll always be that for me. Paid Members Nick Soapdish Posted October 6, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted October 6, 2016 Best first episode of a show is definitely not Breaking Bad. However i'd argue one of the best Finales
TildeGuy~!
That episode of WestWorld really was something wasn't it? Â Mesmerised the whole way through.
Paid Members ReturnOfTheMack Posted October 6, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted October 6, 2016 Loving Westworld! Â Im off sick so binge watching a few shows; Supergirl (bit shit, but the lead and Flockhart are great), Lucifer (again) and The Middle. Â I think The Middle is one of the best shows of its type, easily better than Malcom In The Middle for my tastes, the kids are all perfect in their roles. Paid Members Murtz Posted October 6, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted October 6, 2016 They fucked it up when they made the third series to be fair, that was rotten.Wasn't that largely due to the writers strike that they had during the 3rd season? So it just had to be cut short?
Paid Members PunkStep Posted October 6, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted October 6, 2016 Nah, it was just shit. It was cut short due to the strike but long before the strike came it was rubbish. I think there's only so much you can go with it. I enjoyed the first two series though.

Paid Members Murtz Posted October 6, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted October 6, 2016 Yeah I thought season 3 was the worst out of the lot too, I was just wondering if it was because of the writers strike or just shit writing.
