His daughters are both actresses. Emily was Carli in the Inbetweeners, probably most famously. What a sad loss. But what a great life. RIP. Quote

DavidB6937 Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Absolutely gutted on that one. He was the first ever guest I met at my first ever convention in 2003 in London and he couldn't have been nicer. If that had been a bad interaction my whole life could've been different. I could've easily been put off. It was so weird hearing him speak in his non-Giles voice, but I then had the pleasure of working with him a couple of times over the years after that, and you couldn't ask for a more genuine and friendly person to spend time with. After those years it was such a pleasure to see him pop up in stuff like Merlin, knowing he was the complete opposite of Uther but did such a great job of being an arsehole, and definitely amazing to see him in Ted Lasso which was a nice familiar face for many but got him plenty of new fans too. Giles will mostly be his legacy though and he always seemed so proud of that. Just a wonderful role that he was really made for and showed a real range of his talent. His daughters are immensely talented too and will no doubt carry on the family acting legacy. Quote

He was perfect as Giles, my favourite character in Buffy a show I loved at the time and still do. Very sad, and far too soon. An unbelievably amazing actor with an incredible catalogue that may have never truly got his flowers, but god he was fantastic Quote
