Just hearing that Michael Keating from Blake's 7 has died.

He played the cowardly hero so well in the show and the effect that that final episode had on the 8 year old me will never be forgotten.

It was great to see him pop up in Eastenders years later as Dot Cotten's vicar.

Judith Chalmers has died at 90.  Most of you won’t know who she is, but she had a show on ITV in the 70’s and 80’s called wish you were here where she travelled the world looking at Holiday Destinations.  Even places like Benidorm and Tenerife looked very glamorous to this young lad and the ones in the USA mesmerised me.

I remember Wish You Were Here. Judith Chalmers is one of those figures that, whatever their profile, you just don't imagine ever not being around.

It was from listening to Round The Horne, when J. Peasemold-Gruntfuttock is perving over her and asking the BBC for signed pictures of her, that I found out she was considered a bit of a sex symbol in the 60s. It's always a bit surprising to discover that sort of thing, as there's a bit of a pantheon of TV/media characters that, as a kid, you're not encouraged to think about in that way (bit like Angela Lansbury). She was smiley, trustworthy, and reassuring to me.

What's particularly interesting about her is that, even though she was mostly a presenter, she did have some comedy chops on radio as well.

90 isn't a bad innings. I remember Wish You Were Here from back then. Every now and then a "celebrity" would turn up on it as well. There's a million people doing this kind of thing all over YouTube nowadays but between that, Clive James and Whicker's World there were some cracking travel shows back then. Rough Guide on Channel 4 as well.

Kyle Busch, the two time NASCAR champion aged just 41 yesterday. Went into hospital yesterday after experiencing a "sudden and severe illness" (that's how it's being reported as nobody really knows yet), so he pulled out of some upcoming races, then died later in the evening. All very sudden. He was still currently racing and even took a victory last week.

Loved watching him race. Not everyone's favourite for sure, but no doubt his ability on the track.

Not uncommon in NASCAR from the limited knowledge I have of it, it's very big characters and pro wrestling, they seem to book more pull apart brawls than Triple H.

Obviously not gonna be a bunch of glowing tributes for this one but I just read that Mark ‘Fifth Amendment’ Fuhrman, famous for his part in the OJ Simpson case and trial, died recently from throat cancer at 74.
