AE Pod are okay, but they're not really AE related anymore and their heart doesn't seem to be in it.

IYH is insufferable. Sorry but Benno waffling on about useless shite for what feels like an hour, before the REAL podcast begins? Not for me, clive.

Wrestle Me, I like but they feel like they're looking down on wrestling at times. Maybe that's just me.

What makes you think that? I couldn’t disagree more, I think their love for the sport shines through; remarkable given that the whole premise of it originally relied on the fact Pete wasn’t a fan. These days there are times at which he corrects Marc when he gets something wrong. I think they’re both great - I actually nominated them for best non-wrestler at the UKFF Awards last year, and I absolutely stand by that. For me at least, their show helps keep wrestling fun.

I think they're at their best now when talking about classic Britwres~ as it feels like the original shows where Pete is learning stuff rather than being so in on everything as a fan as you pointed out. I do feel like it can get a bit "two smart marks taking the piss" at times outside that which is cool if you like that but it's not for me.

I like this about them. You have to look down on wrestling, don't you? You can't look up to it, it's the lowest of the low-brow. I much prefer listening to two funny blokes that love wrestling but know not to take it too seriously, than anything where the hosts try to pretend it's anything other than a load of silly bollocks that we all should have grown out of by now.

Just what Merz said. They tend to take the piss out of it which okay, but you're making a podcast about it. Try not to, mock the thing you're devoting all this time to.

I love Wrestle Me ripping the absolute piss out of wrestling. We all do it because it's fucking bollocks. I mean we all watch it, but it's utter bollocks. They have to sit there and talk things like Money Plane, Japanese blokes fighting inside a bathhouse and Michael Hayes solo album. It's a credit to Pete he stuck with it didn't just go 'its crap and gay' and sack off the project.

Anyway, I love when they cover old WOS stuff. I'm almost hoping they have more technical difficulties so they have to break the emergency glass and cover more of that fascinatingly dull Count Bartelli book.

I'd kill for more Bartelli. What a find.

I definitely think they need to reboot as a Chinese whispers (*) series where Pete and a radio colleague who's never watched wrestling have to watch all the WrestleManias and Pete has to play the expert role from memory.

(* Or culturally sensitive 2025 equivalent term)

The latest OSW on In Your House 2 is bloody superb, and I learned that lumberjack matches were originally meant for the wrestlers to be wearing their lumberjack shirts.

The next OSW is a bloody doozy, and I hate to be a Patreon twat, but as they haven't announced it yet, I won't spoil the surprise but it's on a documentary that I guarantee we've all watched. Well looking forward to that.

Is 'announcing an episode' really a spoiler?

Well no, but as its only been announced on the episode which is only available through their Patreon for now, and hasn't been announced on their socials, I didn't want to give the game away, that's all.

New OSW is out now for all on YouTube

Glad they’re back in the New Generation era but I’m a bit gutted they’ve skipped over King of the Ring 95. I totally get why they have, but I reckon they could’ve done something good with that show.
