Random question to the Wrestle Me patreon subscribers, did they say what happened with the final ep of their Fall Brawl '98 review? I can't find it, and they seem to have moved on to Summerslam 93 (which I'm equally happy with, dont get me wrong) but I wanted to make sure I didn't miss something obvious!

I subbed to this podcast after the recommendation here, and I'm bumping this to say it's an absolute cracker. Lots of fun, especially if you were around the scene at that time. The lads do a great job. 

I hope they keep going once they're finished the FWA TV stuff. Move onto an adjacent topic.

They forgot they hadn't done it, and pledged to do it last week, but seems like they forgot again.

Speaking of Wrestle Me, I've always been able to download the mp3s of each episode so I could listen to them wherever*, but last time I tried, I only got error messages. Does everybody else listen through the Patreon app or are downloads still a thing and it's me going wrong?

 

 

*on my very old iPod that's somehow just about still going

I just tried to on my phone and nothing happened. I'll check on my desktop when I can. 

EDIT: @HarmonicGenerator it did in fact download, it just took ages to start for some reason.

It was on there, but a number of them got pulled because some of the music used on the intros way back when...but squaredcirclegazette.podbean.com has all of them to download...

No worries! It does bugger you up when they post a video on patreon tho, so you do have to check back occasionally to make sure you havent missed any extra content

Turns out I don’t have a Spotify account, so I’m still trying to get Wrestle Me episodes to download. I’ve managed to get as far as using the Patreon to add them to an Apple Podcasts app, and the list of episodes all show up there, but they won’t download, and I get an error message when I try to play them.

I’ve tried the Patreon app on a tablet too, same issue, they won’t download and I get an error if I try to play. 

Does anyone have any suggestions? If not, I’m ready to just throw in the towel and cancel my subscription.

I use the Overcast app, and I’ve never had any issues with that. I actually switched for that very reason - I was having issues with Patreon podcasts in general. I was able to fix it each time by uninstalling the Apple Podcast app and reinstalling it, but that obviously meant I’d lose all podcasts I’d downloaded at that point and that was a pain in the arse. 

Overcast also lets you create playlists which, unless I’m misremembering, I don’t think Apple lets you do.

I use the Podcast Republic app and it handles all of my podcasts beautifully, even the awkward F4W/Observer radio ones which require feed authentication.

But it will handle the Patreon feed links no problem.
