Coming out in his home town, with a 'live' performance of his music by a biggish name artist, wearing gear promoting a local charity, he sure wouldn't have looked out of place at the tippy top IMO. It's a difficult one. Hard to know if pushing him straight to that level would've worked or not. Especially if they had no intention of taking the belt off Reigns quite yet. Maybe they'll go that route for Summerslam now.

It's WWE. Nobody wins in their home town.
Paid Members Supremo Posted April 12, 2021 Author Paid Members Posted April 12, 2021 Whilst Night 1 was far superior to Night 2, the best moment across the whole weekend was that one spot where Roman powerbombed Bryan through the table. The crowd booing the shit out of Roman before, during and after the spot, Roman jaw jacking back. Finally where he always needed to be. A proper fucking heel. Fans eating out of the palm of his hand. Absolutely magical. Genuine goosebumps. When do they next plan on having fans? Can’t they just hire an outdoor venue and do weekly TV like AEW? It’s going to kill me watching them return to the glitzy empty warehouse after getting a small taste of what could be.
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted April 12, 2021 Paid Members Posted April 12, 2021 I think if I watched wrestling more than once a year, Riddle would replace Jack Evans as my most hated ever wrestler. He just makes me unreasonably angry with everything he does and says. I detest him.

I think Riddle is even more infuriating because there’s a good wrestler in there somewhere but it’s buried beneath layers of utter septic, toxic, rubbish shite. He moves well and can give and take some solid whacks. I could ignore Jack Evans because who gives a shit. Riddle is a tragic waste of potential talent.

Doog Posted April 12, 2021 Posted April 12, 2021 Yeah he’s definitely one of those where you can’t even just blame the WWE machine for positioning him to try and be likeable but he comes across like a dickhead. He is just a genuine unlikeable dickhead and no character or script can mask that. Theres a decent wrestler there no doubt but fuck him, he’s a twat.

Paid Members tiger_rick Posted April 12, 2021 Paid Members Posted April 12, 2021 Have they actually renamed the next PPV "WrestleMania Backlash"?
Chili Posted April 12, 2021 Posted April 12, 2021 Yeah Riddle. All I saw of him prior was an indy match Tony Schiavone announced and then didn't hear of him until WWE signed him. Then some stuff came out about him. Went in with a pre-judgment but fuck me. How can someone be that talented and be so fucking shockingly shit in every other department. I was absolutely done with him after one skit, just a really annoying act. How anyone watches it back in the company and goes 'fine' is weird. Is he meant to be a send of up of something in pop culture besides a stoner? Because maybe I just don't really get it. Why those birds on his entrance?

That's what Cole called it last night anyway, and the graphic shown on screen had the banner from the Wrestlemania logo grafted on top of the usual Backlash logo.
Paid Members tiger_rick Posted April 12, 2021 Paid Members Posted April 12, 2021 So Road To WrestleMania, WrestleMania Smackdown, WrestleMania Saturday, WrestleMania Sunday and now WrestleMania Backlash. Milk it, Vince.
mrtrickio Posted April 13, 2021 Posted April 13, 2021 I haven't watched again and so might be misremembering but I don't understand why nobody (commentators included) is mentioning the fact that Edge pinned Daniel Bryan in the main event. Roman dragged Edge onto him in the same way that Apollo Crews was dragged onto Big E. Yes, Roman subsequently did that double pin thing but Edge had Bryan's shoulders down first. Edge is the Champion.
