Out in the smoking area today, 1 lad was showing 2 other lads multiple videos with full volume. It was excruciating as this went on for the duration of me smoking two cigarettes, so not a quick clip.

I felt sad for myself but also sad for the 2 lads who had to feign interest and fake laugh, as there is absolutely not many things worse than someone showing you a video and watching for your reaction.

"It's this bit...no wait wait, its this bit...look...haha...oh no wait, this is the best bit"

Have a colleague that does the same. A 20 minute video he tried to show me one day as he stood over me watching me and my reaction.

Torture.

On the topic of kids and other kids..

My daughter was in the soft play area there recently and there was a traveler child in there with them. Honestly he looked at least 12, my daughter is 3.

He was shadow boxing in there at one stage !!

A traveller lad was shadow boxing in the steam room at my gym one time. Was thinking the steam had sent him loco with how he was going for it.

My gaffer is awful for this. Especially so now as we're always quiet during the winter.

His big interests at the moment are boxing, Donald Trump and 80s stand-up comedy from the likes of Billy Connolly, so about 4 or 5 times a day he'll call me and my colleague over to his desk to watch a 30-minute Youtube video of one of the above. I've taken to making up fake orders just to get out of it.

I think I’d probably say YT videos were against my religion or something if this ever happened to me.

Having to tell the Amazon chatbot you want an agent 4 fucking times before it connects you. Once with words then THREE further confirmation touches. THREE.

Podcasts on Spotify where they force you to have on the transcripts rather than just the podcasts picture. I thought this possibly couldn't be the case, as that seems insane, but apparently on Android this is the truth. So if playing a podcast on my phone and then some ads come on, it takes a few seconds as it has to load the transcript up. No idea why they wouldn't give you the option to disable it.

Trying to arrange a Christmas night out in our early 40’s has become absolute torture.

Up until very recently the best thing about Xmas was always you had loads of night outs leading up, more so than the day itself really, which has always been a bit take it or leave it for me.

But fuck me, for the past 2-3 years I’ve found myself going out less in December than any other month of the year.

Thank god for the work Xmas party or else I’d be doing dry December! Trying to get everyone, or even most of my mates  together on any single day at this time of year is like herding cats.

Pop-up/flip-up plugholes.

What was wrong with a regular plug  on a chain for the plughole?  Pop-ups seem to get jammed just when you don't want them to and both require you to put your hands back in the dirty sink water to drain the sink after your filthy endeavours.

Our bath plug, which works on a pop-up mechanism, is so fucked that we have to use a plunger now to pull it out of the hole. Why we couldn't have had one with a chain I don't know. It's like Jasper Carrott's routine about losing portable phones: "I knew where the old one was - it was tied to the wall!"

I’m very much anti-AI but having just spent 15 minutes talking to Amazon’s Live Chat, who I had to outright ask if they were a human or an AI chat bot ( “I am Human, Flips” they responded like an AI chat bot) I could be turned around on the whole thing.

Edit: just seen @air_raid had a similar experience!

Sent my brother a text about a week ago with the updated Christmas bin collection days.

Drove past all the bins on Christmas Day, "look at them, they don't even know".

Was awoken 7:30am this morning to the bins being collected.

I'd forgot to put ours out.

Tension headaches.

Never had them before, turn 33 in 5 days and bam first one has hit me like a brick. Khali Vice grip levels of bleh.

Not helped by the conjoined living room next door to my bedroom where the neighbours have been fucking singing out of tune since 8am.

McDonald's Cup Holders (especially with large soft drinks/milkshakes)

There is a safe zone that's approximately 3mm wide where you can hold it.  Put your fingers anywhere else and you are buckarooing that large Fanta into the night.

Online shops that don't use boxes or packaging and slap the tracking labels on the product box itself....Great way to wreck presents for people!

Sounds like Amazon. When they started doing this and giving you a small drop down box at the bottom of checkout, for product packaging or Amazon packaging. I was oblivious and ended up with a Bruce Springsteen vinyl in cellophane with an Amazon shipping label on it. It surprisingly wasn't as obliterated as you would expect being frisbeed around the warehouse and couriers van.
