Paid Members bAzTNM#1 Posted December 20, 2021 Paid Members Share Posted December 20, 2021 Don't quote me but I think you'll find the matches on that NJPW World subscription service, just not with the made up names.

The early Eurosports were from the 1990 - '94 period or thereabouts. Some matches from ppv's, Dontaku etc. & some circuit stuff. I've got a couple of volumes, but they're nothing to write home about. The 2007 airings covered a period around '05. Pretty uninspiring stuff, as NJPW largely was at that point in time.
Paid Members bAzTNM#1 Posted December 23, 2021 Paid Members Share Posted December 23, 2021 Why is Rick Rude's WWF music dubbed over.with another song? You can see why they did it for his early WCW run because that's just a messed around version.of "Black Cat" by Janet Jackson on his debut. It’s a pretty shameless knock off of The Stripper. Same reason Jimmy Harts version of Teen Spirit doesn’t play on old DDP matches.

Paid Members Your Fight Site Posted December 23, 2021 Paid Members Share Posted December 23, 2021 I’m in March 1999 of my WCW watch-through and gutted The Cat’s theme music has been dubbed with some MIDI-sounding thing.
Paid Members bAzTNM#1 Posted December 23, 2021 Paid Members Share Posted December 23, 2021 Just that I've noticed a lot of WWF music is passing through recently apart from Rick Rudes.
bigfoote
I still haven't forgiven WWE for changing Dusty's music to Wheel of Fortune.
Paid Members bAzTNM#1 Posted December 27, 2021 Paid Members Share Posted December 27, 2021 What was the deal with Chris Adams absolute hatred of William Regal when they were in WCW? Thanks

Thanks Best I can find is from an old post on wrestling classics board: "I've heard a few things about this. One is that William Regal and David Taylor didn't respect Chris Adams as a worker as they used the traditional English style and he did not and didn't appreciate being linked with him by the promotion as either a partner at first and later as a foe. Taylor and Regal also did not get along with Adams personally. Â The other issue is that William Regal had just comeback to WCW in 1999 after a disastrous WWF run in 1998 and a stay in rehab during which Regal conquered his longstanding problems with drugs and alcohol. Now Regal was back in WCW for a stint as a low midcarder that he was effectively using as a means to get back to the WWF, only to find himself paired with Adams whose own substance abuse problems were well known. Regal didn't want to slip back to his old habits as can happen when someone in recovery associates with someone who is using. Regal also didn't want to get a "guilt by association" tag due to working with Adams to hurt him down the line in his efforts to return to the WWF." Paid Members LaGoosh Posted January 4, 2022 Paid Members Share Posted January 4, 2022 I'm on a bit of Jushin Thunder Lyger kick these days but don't have an encyclopedic knowledge of Japanese wrestling like some of you weirdos/lovely chaps, so could someone recommend me any Lyger classics please? Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted January 4, 2022 Paid Members Share Posted January 4, 2022 The match with Pillman from Superbrawl 2. The match with Great Sasuke from New Japan’s Super J Cup in 94. The Great Muta match from 96. The Super Juniors final against El Samurai in 92. Any of his matches with Benoit from 1990 to 1992. The Owen Hart match from April 91. Vs Brad Armstrong from WCW in 92. Anything with him against Ultimo Dragon and Shinjiro Otani. Sure there’s a bunch of obvious ones I’m forgetting, and more recent stuff that I haven’t seen.
Paid Members Tommy! Posted January 4, 2022 Paid Members Share Posted January 4, 2022 (edited) Did Liger and Hayabusa ever cross paths? Edit: just looked up the first J cup and see it's them in round 1 Edited January 4, 2022 by Tommy! Merzbow
Hayabusa is such a "what if?" story, what if he wasn't so loyal to FMW and joined New Japan full time or even WWF as they were interested in him before they signed Hakushi. Easily could have been a star in WCW's cruiserweight division, too. Edited January 4, 2022 by Merzbow
Paid Members gmoney Posted January 4, 2022 Paid Members Share Posted January 4, 2022 I should probably watch some Hayabusa stuff. I've only ever seen that ECW PPV match he did which was shite.
