Chili Posted January 29, 2025 Posted January 29, 2025 Not that is really matters, but we all love getting weird about this chat, but the viewership was down by about 50% from the first episode. Have a good day everyone, don't fall into the ratings/stream vortex. I'm just mentioning it. Quote

There is no way they are wasting Roman Reigns’ WrestleMania main event on Drew McIntyre, and I say that as someone who adores Drew McIntyre profusely. Never heard of any of the Rappers they showed either apart from 2 Chainz but then I only know the name and thats probably from previous times he has been shown at an event or done a theme for a show but Cenat? Quavo? Lil Yachty? Not the faintest idea who they were In fairness, I thought 2 Chainz was Brian Lee's latest gimmick for a moment. Quote

Takeoff was shot dead (©️GrimPeterProductions) and Offset slept with Quavo's ex leading to some ill feeling. Migos were pretty big in the US though and Quavo is from Atlanta so it's not a huge crime to have them in the audience. Quote

Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted January 30, 2025 Paid Members Posted January 30, 2025 Raw was ace again, almost all of it worked. Of course, Rollins coming out first dressed like a paint accident in a safari park never puts you in the best of moods but I enjoyed his reaction to the 'Where's The Man?' sign. Good question, where the fuck's Becky? Logan Paul talking through the boos was good stuff because they eventually shut the fuck up. Karrion Kross being cast as a backstage disruptor just there to cause trouble is working far better than it should. Just think, all these years we could have had him doing this instead of the rest of the shit he's done. I know many people have praised JD McDonagh for soldiering on after twatting himself off the announce table but to me it's just a microcosm of how unseriously we're continuing to take potentially serious injuries in wrestling. The match, as good as it was (War Raiders are just loads of fun to watch) should have been stopped at least for a doctor check. The performer or athlete should not be allowed to make their own call. Pat McAfee used 'The Boo Day'. Just remember who used it first though, a'ight? Using Woods' family during the Mysterio match was inspired. They need to batter someone at some point though, I don't want them to just be comedy heels. Good match though. Maybe they should have put the WHC on Jey Uso. He's unbelievably over. He's rubbish in the ring but at this point I don't think it matters because whoever then beats him for it has massive heat instantly. I didn't know who that rapper was. Or any the rest of them apart from Killer Mike. And I say this as someone who doesn't just listen to Pulp and Underworld on his Spotify. Good women's tag match. Bianca Backstabber Belair still playing the innocent. Disgraceful. Naomi didn't balls anything up. Raquel Rodriguez is excellent. We need to talk about Paul Heyman. I think when it's got to the point that you're audibly snorting into the mic in-between sentences then maybe you need to cut down on the bagels. I thought he was going to pass out at one point until Drew came out and let him catch his breath. Good segment, more stuff bubbling under with the Bloodline. Then Zayn and Owens had another nice spot. Poor Sami. You can be too much of a good guy. The Punk and Rhodes segment was excellent, obviously, even if it did stutter a bit in places. I don't mind the idea of Rhodes playing a knackered champion, emotionally and physically, I just think they've rushed it a bit. Great stuff though, and the crowd were hanging on every word. I am enjoying this wrestling company right now very much. Quote
SwayWays Posted January 30, 2025 Posted January 30, 2025 (edited) I watched it a day or two after, and honestly I loved the ability to conveniently skip in places. Still feels weird, having it on Netflix. The show feels exciting for the first time in a while, like they're not just churning it out meaninglessly at the moment. I would love Punk V Rhodes, Punk gets his mania main event and Cody gets someone again who he can sharpen his teeth with and develop more of an edge. Not every feud has to be "I hate you... Let's do a fight". I'm just happy cody is no where near Seth. Seth is wrestling's equivalent of Homer suggesting to ask where Poochie is whenever off Screen. Everything about him is an attempt to remind you how great he is, but he's the most inauthentic brides maid trying to stand to close to the centre in a wedding photo ever. Romans a much different guy to then, as is Drew. I'm with you, it'd be interesting. Quote
DavidB6937 Posted January 30, 2025 Posted January 30, 2025 I'm not sure if it's a Mania match for me at the moment but it's absolutely a big PPV match. If Drew's doing all this stuff now which is motivated by his hate for the Bloodline etc then surely the destination at some point has to be another big match with Roman anyway. It's the only logical destination. Quote
