Maybe. It simply could be a case of not being used to that style and being used to a more excitable, expressive style. Then again, you can go too far the other way as you pointed out with your Mauro Ranallo comparison.

I thought he sounded really on his debut. But as he’s gone on, clearly improved his knowledge and stuff but it sounds weird. And although I think Barrett can be ok, I don’t think he’s a good colour guy with him. The voices don’t really gel.

*My opinion isn’t based on watching whole shows just bits here and there, maybe I’d feel differently if I saw the whole 2 hours from time to time.

I like Barrett but I think he would be more fun bouncing off Cole. Tessetore doesn't seem confident enough for the bantz! yet.

Yeah I thought him and Cole used to work well of each other.

I guess this is as good a place for this as any as it's inspired by the New Day anniversary thing tonight:

Fuck I love that man.

Loved reading this, thanks for sharing!

EDIT: Just watched the New Day segment on Raw and wow, that was NOT the way I was expecting it to go! Definitely worth a watch.

Spoiler

I almost choked on my coffee when Kofi said to Big E, "You broke your neck... SO WHAT!!"

If Big E doesn’t fight Gunther for the belt at Mania, they’ve missed a trick.

They always say the best heel stuff is when deep down you know they’re right and this was one of those moments.

I think it does lay a brilliant foundation too for if E ever does get cleared to come back and join a heel New Day because I think deep down he knew they were right too.

That’s the basis for all the best villainy in fiction. At the very least, they may not convince us that they’re in the right, but they feel 100% that they’re right, justified, the hero of the story. And that we can see and feel that.

As a comics man, I refer to a Magneto or Megatron, who base the very core of their character around doing the very best for the survival of their people. Sounds reasonable, right?

Do they? I'm not sure I agree with that. I would say the best heel stuff is when they are massive utterly despicable arseholes and you want to see them get beaten up. I don't think muddying the water helps with that.

Will give full thoughts later but just wanted to pop in and say at the start of that brawl with Rollins that brief moment CM Punk went all Shane McMahon MMA and threw the weirdest dodge followed by the weakest punch I've ever seen I pissed myself laughing.

I didn’t really like the segment…they’re at each other’s throats for months, apparently plan to split, then Big E pissing them off leads to them suddenly being good, and deciding to stick together? It felt a bit out-of-nowhere and a bit rushed.

I did enjoy the Rollins/Punk segment, though and it’s the first time I’ve said this about Rollins for a long time. As much as I want to see Punk/Reigns, I want a slower build - Wrestlemania next year seems too soon for what this story could be. Rollins/Punk can be a step along the way in this story, while Reigns does whatever he does at Wrestlemania - perhaps the Rock match, perhaps something else entirely.
