The Crying Game (Putlocker or something)

I knew it was transphobic and politically appalling but the rest of it's fucking shit as well. A truly terrible film further fucked by Forest Whitaker's accent.

I really, really hated it when I saw it in Media Studies at college. I remember trying to explain what I didn't like about it (mainly I thought the acting was really bad from all involved, I wouldn't have spotted any transphobia back then) and distinctly got the vibe from my lecturer that she thought I didn't like it because of my own trans or homophobia. That was a frustrating afternoon.

I watched it in Film Studies as well, and we all pissed ourselves at the dream scene with Forest Whitaker bowling. One of the most unintentionally funny scenes in cinema.

The Rental. Slow start but picks up, very tense in places and a good ending. Not the worst way to spend an hour and a half.

Episode II: Attack Of The Clones. The worst way to spend an hour and a half. I'm still working from home, ditched the shed we converted in to a lockdown home office weeks ago in favour of sitting with my laptop in the living room infront of the telly watching films all day. My Mrs suggested watching all the Star Wars films in order which didn't require much convincing. Episode I: The Phantom Menace is still great fun, despite what some folk would have you believe and is easily my favourite of the prequels. It's successor though is dogshit of the highest order. I quite like the gladiator but bit that's about it. And Zam Wessels wrinkly face. Episode III: Revenge Of the Sith picks up the slack but it's way too long. Flippy Yoda is crap too. Me and my wife were both in agreement that Ian McDiarmid is the best thing about all three prequels, he's so brilliantly smug throughout. OG trilogy tomorrow.

Eurovision. Ja Ja Ding Dong. DING DONG.

The Man who Killed Don Quixote - an incoherent film, which was unsurprising given that it has spent a thousand years in development hell. It was clear that Adam Driver's character was originally going to be Johnny Depp, but he still did a decent job. (As a sidenote: no idea why he is seen as so attractive.)

The Don Quixote bits were really fun, and carried the film to average, but most of the non-Don Quixote bits were just a bit poo.

Adam Driver is fit. Tall, nice hair, deep voice, pretty eyes. Well fit.

The Peanut Butter Falcon

I absolutely loved this film, and the performances were all brilliant. Just a really sweet movie about friendship.

I'm sure there were a tonne of wrestling cameos I didn't spot, but that's a tiny part of the film.

Soundtrack was great too.

The Spy Next Door

Was alright, but crucially the kids now want to watch more Jackie Chan (although the youngest did say "There should be a sequel to this" demonstrating that she is still clueless in many ways)

He's got a face that looks like it's been side-swiped by a mallet and is too sadz to realise it. Like he took a slow-motion right hook from Brad Pitt's pikey and the wind changed.

Money Plane. Edge the wrestler is forced by Kelsey Grammer to rob an illegal anything goes casino on a plane. It felt really cheap, not as knowingly stupid as sharknado or something, more like one of Hulk Hogan's 90s films where he's in a crew of soldiers of fortune. It was ok but just felt a bit half arsed.

I enjoyed seeing Denise Richards in it for a minute and was mostly indifferent to seeing Joey Lawrence from Blossom.

That sounds awful. Where can I watch it?

Jut rewatched Knives Out for the first time since the cinema. Perfect casting and just as enjoyable the second time. I haven't googled it so it's probably already been answered but I have a theory (which I may have mentioned before)....

When Blanc is first introduced he taps the piano every time someone lies and taps it when they say that the stories just came, fully formed, to their father. He then mentions that his own father was a Police Detective who knew Harlen. I put it to you that he stole his crime ideas from Blancs father!...or it could just be a throwaway line.

Anyway. Great film, can't wait for the sequel

Animals (Prime)

Holliday Grainger and Alia Shawkat are best friends who live a life of debauchery and drift apart when one grows up and wants to settle down.

Rubbish, cliched bollocks that has been told much better elsewhere, and a waste of the two leads.

How To Build A Girl (Coercion)

Without doubt, one of the worst films I have ever seen in my life, an irredeemable piece of shit that was so bad it has almost made me hate one of my favourite Manics songs.

So fuck this film and everyone involved in it.

I had considered this, but as a huge Manics fan I'm more than worried. That bad 4real?
