I've almost filled my 500GB series S (good old train sim world and its DLC) and wondering what the best external drive is. Having said that I picked up Mortal Kombat One in the sale the other day and that takes up almost as much space. Quote

As Ralphy's mentioned above Xbox 360 and Xbox One games can be played off an external hard drive or SSD. Xbox Series games need to be on the internal memory or the special Seagate/Western Digital "Expansion Cards." If you're mainly playing Xbox Series games the slickest, and most expensive upgrade, is the expansion card. The halfway house is an external drive that you shunt series games on to when you aren't playing them to save having to redownload them. You can't play a Series game if it's on an external normal drive, but you can store it. When you want to play it you shuffle another game off your internal storage onto the external drive to make space and then copy the one you want to play to the internal. A bit of a pain, but quicker than redownloading 50GB+ games. As external SSD prices have shot up there now isn't as much of a gap between the expansion cards and an actual SSD as there once was. However, the expansion cards can only be used on the Xbox Series S|X. If a year down the road you fancied using the SSD for your laptop etc you could unplug that from the Xbox and reformat it for your computer. Quote

Plus it could be quicker copying stuff from an external drive than keep downloading stuff. I'm loathe to paying more for storage than I have for my console as well, which rules out the little expansion thing, although Seagate have got a pretty good racket there. I'll keep shopping around. Ironic Indie Lad Posted May 7 Posted May 7 Remake of Starfox 64 AKA Lylat Wars for Switch 2 and it’s coming next month! Probably my favourite on rails shooter type game of all time with full respect to Panzer Dragoon. This one’s been rumoured for a while along with the remake of Ocarina of Time. Hopefully this means OoT is real and it’s spectacular! Quote

Are there any good "open world" fighter jet/star ship type games for either PS5 or XBOX? Would love something I can have both dogfights and other more strategic missions, if possible? Quote

Ace Combat 7 is actually a perfect game, not so much open world but the maps are big and there's some good strategy elements to ground/sea and mixed battles. I'd say get it with the DLC as they are some huge missions, best in the entire series. Quote
