How little do they think of you when cabinet ministers fall over themselves to say that they go for a quick spin to test their eyes just to normalise it?

Christ, if the Daily Star has got political, you know its a fuck-up of colossal proportions.

So the actual practical importance of this total shitshow is being highlighted right now. Tomorrow they are going to unveil the test/track/trace/isolate program. That program is the only way you can even vaguely safely lift/ease lockdown without a vaccine or better treatment.

The point of the program is that people can move about more normally, but if you've been in close contact with somebody who gets COVID or symptoms, a contract tracer tells you and you stay home for two weeks. For that to work, it absolutely has to be "stay home, don't go anywhere, no exceptions."

And Boris Johnson now cannot effectively tell the population to follow that rule.

That liaison committee was unnerving, Johnson was lost, Cummings was quite clearly stood, arms crossed, tapping his foot angrily with a scowl on his face to Johnson's right off camera, because the amount of times Johnson looked there for reassurance or escape was exceptionally telling.

And clearly they know they are fucked, they've even gone the "mess the hair even more up for your gimmick to shine through" route.

And all this happened on a day where they kept the numbers of those that are newly affected or dead from Corona very quiet and it didn't fit the agenda for the app release.

It turns out that Dominic Cummings jointly owns his parents farm, so it is his second home.

The staunch Brexiteer has also received over 200,000 Euros in farming subsidies from the European Union.

And on further inspection there is this little snippet from Google - the farm's postcode is DH1 3SU it is a residential postcode in Cock o the North, County Durham.

You really couldn't make it up.

If I was a selfish cunt I would be out protesting and using the Cummings defence. Thankfully I'm not an absolute fucking dirty Tory cunt and will continue to stay in and do my bit bit to add to the pandemic.

Top Tory twat Matt Hancock laughing about this pandemic and the awful track and trace rollout boils my piss. I only hope that people remember this shower of shit when election rolls around.

Highest death toll? Fuck me.

Cummings has been found guilty of breaking the lockdown rules by Durham Police. However, it concluded it was a minor breach and no further action. Unlike the two familes who drove up to Durham from London who were charged with breaking the rules.

So unless we get a louder Tory revolt, he's gotten away with it

Yes and no. Boris Johnson, Gove and the Attorney General all made a big point about how he hadn't broken the rules, and how it was all down to interpretation and everyone 'must make their own minds up'. The police disagreeing with this should be a pretty big issue, particularly for the Attorney General.

Of course they won't. All this will be swept under the rug. It'll be all "We got Brexit done" "we reduced the number of people on benefits by (insert Covid death toll here)" and "we invested this much in the NHS (by selling it off)". Or "Starmer is a socialist, (billionaires) paying more tax to properly fund public services is bad".

They are straight into the denial already. Focusing entirely on "The Police said he did nothing wrong driving to Durham" and ignoring the part where they said he DID break the law going to the Castle. It's all a PR exercise to them. They just don't give a fuck.

Quick clarification on Durham Police using the phrase "might have committed a breach." That's apparently legal speak for "he broke the rules and we'd have considered it a breach if we'd caught him."

EDIT: Specifically, it's not up to the police to decide if somebody has broken the law. That's decided by somebody admitting guilt by accepting a fine or the case goes to court and they are convicted. "Might" in this situation means they consider he breached the rules.
