That idiot Peter Griffin lookalike was on Newsnight last night referring to Jean-Claude Juncker as 'Herr Juncker in the bunker', no doubt how the current crop refer to him among themselves.

It's awful. 'The bunker' (Führerbunker) is the location of the last stand of the Nazis, the place where Hitler and Goebbels killed themselves. The things that this slithery gobshite comes out with are the embodiment of the tabloidisation of politics. Want to get the people angry? Stoke up some anti-German feeling!

To cap it all off ... Jean-Claude Juncker isn't even German. He's from Luxembourg. Fuck's sake.

It’s depressing that British politics has swung so far in the direction that it has to the point she decided ‘eh, I’ll let that one slide.’

This kind of rhetoric, sadly, has become normalised.

Equating of the EU with Germany, and Germany with cartoon Nazis, is par for the course for the Brexit mob. They all grew up playing with tin Spitfires, and never grew out of it.

The only reason British politics has “swung to the right” is because of the demonstrable and egregious failings of the left. Yes, the Tories are cunts at the minny mo, but what has the opposition offered? Jeremy Corbyn, aided and abetted by that raving Marxist lunatic Seamus Milne, a Putin apologist and hater of the West, has proffered a manifesto that wants to drag the UK back to the 70s era of James Callaghan, a government whose policies were so successful and beloved that Labour got a whopping 27% of the vote in the ’83 election. Under Blair, Labour realised that socialism wouldn’t win an election; the moronic tag team of Corbyn and Milne have come up with nothing - absolutely nothing - new, and that’s why nobody sane wants to vote for them. OK, The Left: what alternative, innovative policies do you actually have, other than making the trains state-led?

I like progressivism. I don’t think “opportunity of outcome” is some magic solution when the people in question don’t actually have it. But Jesus fucking Christ, the left has done an awful job so far of achieving anything close, preferring to shout at anyone who doesn’t fit the doctrinaire mindset.

I'd be surprised if they refer to Juncker as that, it's too tame for a grade A prick like Juncker. Fuck 'im.

Corbyn got 40% of the vote in 2017.

I'd rather have a compromised Labour party in government than any Conservative government, and Blair is the only Labour leader to win a general election in the last 40 years. People can go on about Jeremy Corbyn all they want but the unless he can win a general election, anything he says is meaningless. Jeremy Corbyn is not going to win a general election. Labour need to get serious.

Blair was a Labour leader in name only. Him and Mandelson hijacked the party and hoodwinked a nation into believing what was desperately needed after 18 years of Tory rule would actually happen. In reality, he was was a Tory-lite megalomaniac who had no intention of representing the working class. You only need to look at his policies and what he delivered to understand what and who he truly looked after. The man was and is a cunt. Nye Bevan, Clement Attlee, Tony Benn and Dennis Skinner would take you by the legs and shake you upside down if you tried to lump Blair in with real Labour MPs.

I totally agree that Labour need to get serious if they want to win the big one, but using Blair as a barometer for success for a party that was founded on working class representatation is borderline insanity.

It's either a case of this lot being an absolute shower that people look back to Blair as some great leader by comparison, or they remember back to the 90s/00s with hazy nostalgia when life was less shit. Either or, I've seen quite a bit of "Get Tony Back", which is terrifying considering how completely untrustworthy and awful he proved to be as a leader. As discussed, he's no a complete egocentric upper crust tosser that was cosplay "for the people".
