Paid Members JNLister Posted November 4, 2021 Paid Members Share Posted November 4, 2021 They are eventually going to reach the point where no Conservative MPs or ministers are willing to defend a controversial policy because they know it will be ditched within the day. They're a shameless bunch of twats. They'll be out doing it again before the next back pedal from the Clown in charge. This seemed to really cut through and that's why Johnson has shit himself. 69MeDon
I saw the front pages this morning and even the Mail was going in hard on them over this (The Express continues to be some kind of straight up propaganda mouth-piece for the Tories, and Johnson in particular) and thought, "might see a U-turn here!" Factotum
On a pure political level, the whole thing was a fucking farce. Had the Tories accepted it, Patterson would have been suspended and things would have moved on, Now he's going to probably face a by-election and now Tory sleaze and corruption is the big news. As well as being cunts they're a farcical bunch
Paid Members Carbomb Posted November 4, 2021 Paid Members Share Posted November 4, 2021 I don't know if the previous Thatcher/Major lot are any indication (the current lot seem to have been able to get away with certain things that even Margaret "Tory Jitler" Thatcher wouldn't have been able to), but the corruption and sleaze allegations seemed to start biting and getting purchase when they'd been in power for about 12, 13 years. We're coming up to that now. Knowing our luck, it'll probably coincide with Labour suddenly finding some "rising star" of the Labour Right, a new Blair, and they'll end up completing the cycle for it to repeat again another decade and a bit down the line. Keith Houchen
Kwarteng had a bigger mare than usual. This is how it goes, innit? People separate tories into now and before Johnson as if they’re different parties.

They didn't abstain, they were paired against 28 Tory MPs who also weren't present. Woke this morning to as much chatter about that as cunts who have broken the rules and then voted to change them rather than face punishment. Party needs a huge reset. Again. It's just so bizarre, some in Labour just want to oppose everything and dont understand how their own party works. They're are lead on by Sqawkbox, twitter and other, crappy news sources to hate their own. Labour may not be every one's cuppa at the moment, but ffs stop doing the Tories job for them. It is the most maddening thing to keep seeing. How are you ever going to attract new voters if all the current members do is repeat that Labour is shit?? 69MeDon
Owen Paterson has had a strop and resigned as an MP.

At least he still has his lucrative lobby jobs to fall back on, and I’m sure his old employee Carrie Johnson will see him right. As will The Jockey Club. Factotum
He probably realised that now he can't take money to lobby inside Parliament there's no point being an MP anymore.
Keith Houchen
But he rolled his sleeves up and tucked his tie away like a good boy. The absolute cunt didn’t attend the commons today because he had a job that only he could do. I fucking detest him and his apologists. Full fucking communism now!
