Mark Allen vs Barry Hawkins was absolutely superb and such drama in the last frame. Barry smashes in a top notch fluke red 20 points behind, and then underhits on a pink and a foul given! Pressure was too much, but great from both players over the match.

We did our annual middle Sunday pilgrimage to the Crucible on Sunday just gone, and the venue never gets any less special.

As always, we never get tickets in advance, and just turn up on the day and see what we could get. Afternoon sesh we watched Robertson and Wakelin, which was not easy to watch as both players had their issues throughout the 8 frames. Wakelin though looked a broken man at times, especially after the "foul" on the yellow that basically cost him an important frame,

Night sesh was the Main Event though, with tickets for Higgins/Ronnie! Second time Ive seen each of these guys, but was a real honour to see two of the best to ever do it slugging it out!

Will be there next year, then hopefully its in the UK the following 2 years while they spruce up the venue.

I've always had a soft spot for Hawkins always comes across as a decent bloke so was hoping for good things for him.

He looked gutted with the foul in the last frame.

Me and a mate say every year we'll finally go, and next year is the year. I've had enough saying it, we're going. I cannot wait.

That was an unbelievable shot. It was a really tense match overall. I found myself holding my breath a couple of times in the 20th frame when Higgins levelled the match at 10-10.

Mark Allen comes out to RHCP - Can't Stop. Piss off mate. Come on Wu!!!

Edit: Wu Yize is brilliant isn't he?

Here's an idea for the comms team though. When a player is on for a 147 in a semi final, maybe keep your "funny" comments about the midnite maximum that will make the audience laugh to yourself. Completely put off Wu's rhythm with that.

Only negative, we'll apart from the picture dropping out for 10 minutes or so.

*JV voice* Where's the live feed going? Where's the live feed going???

Snooker entrances are mad. They don’t even “come out” to the music, they’re already out! Just stood there waiting for a bit in the song they want and then a casual walk to the table. It’s bizarre.

I think they could be fun but the players show no emotion when walking out.

It's obviously something that's been adopted from darts, but I find those "walk ons" just as bizarre, if not more so.

In darts they come out into the arena, walk down an aisle to a dead end where they turn around and wait for some music to start so they can walk back down the aisle to the stage they've just walked past to get to the end of the aisle. Just silly.

As mentioned earlier, Mark Allen walks out to RHCP, so he should be banned for life.

As for "that" frame, missed all the snooker today as out, but I can't help but feel that the ref should've tackled the issue far earlier than he did. I don't want to blame him, but all round it was embarrassing.
