Just Some Guy Posted March 24 Posted March 24 (edited) Great news with the exception that the 2029 tournament is going elsewhere. You have to imagine Saudi or China. I would lobby for a venue that has previously hosted the championship and is a current ranking event host. Come on Barry! Bring it back to Blackpool Tower Circus. Paid Members Lion_of_the_Midlands Posted April 17 Paid Members Posted April 17 The World Championship starts Saturday and I can't wait. I see Mark Williams has said he will run the M4 from Cardiff to London naked if he wins. Look what happened last time he made a promise like that. Quote
Magnum Milano Posted April 18 Posted April 18 Talking of Mark Williams, this just came up on my Twitter feed. Quote
Paid Members Gus Mears Posted April 21 Paid Members Posted April 21 First time I've been able to tune in tonight due to a house move. Good to see Fan rocking the poo brown waistcoat and trousers. The clobber of a true champion. Quote
Members SuperBacon Posted April 21 Members Posted April 21 Heartbreaking interview with Gary Wilson where he admits he's really struggling with playing, his game, not being good enough etc. Really sad to see someone like that and feeling like that, and even though he said it's not the mental aspect with him, you do wonder. Bless him. Judd did well to dig in when down and then took it away to win. Quote
Paid Members Gus Mears Posted April 23 Paid Members Posted April 23 Delighted to see UKFF favourite Handsome Hoss Vafaei make it through. Think he might be the first qualifier to win, which is wild when we're not far off a week in. Quote

I won’t say I’m surprised he got through as neither seemed to be playing great. Quote
Pork Pie Posted April 24 Posted April 24 Shuan Murphy has won his second round match with a session to spare. He's had a decent season so I was thinking he could go far in the tournament but his next match will be against Ding or Xintong. Xintong is my pick for winning the tournament by beating Selby in the final. Williams vs Hawkins is a difficult one to predict. Barry is playing really well at the moment. Hopefully Kyren Wilson beats Mark Allen. I understand he's desperate to get results but the negative way Allen plays these days can be a struggle watch. Quote

Was cruising and let Kyren right back in. Think he struggles to win that one now. Quote
Paid Members Gus Mears Posted April 24 Paid Members Posted April 24 Yeah, Kyren was staggeringly poor last night at points. Allen should be furious to have given him any sort of foothold in the match. I really hope Williams wins. I can't be arsed with Barry, lovely as he seems, clogging up a semi final or final spot only to collapse in a heap as usual. Quote
Members SuperBacon Posted April 27 Members Posted April 27 What an incredible performance from John Higgins! 9-4 down, won 6 in a row, absolutely dominated the session. That was just unreal. At least the "come on Ronnie!!!" nonces will disappear now, arseholes. Quote
Paid Members Gus Mears Posted April 27 Paid Members Posted April 27 And Handsome Hoss gets over the line against Trump. Ambassador, with these deciders you are spoiling us Quote
Tamura Posted April 28 Posted April 28 Higgins deserved to win for this shot alone, simply incredible. Quote
Members SuperBacon Posted April 28 Members Posted April 28 *John Peel voice* "and that was John Higgins Magical Brown" LIVE CHAT but an incredible moment in Higgins-Robertson where an audience members medical device kept beeping and they couldn't turn it off. Ref asked both players about it and they were happy to carry on, but I felt/feel so bad for that audience member. Must've been mortified. Quote
