Not just a qualifier but Zhao Xintong who is currently an amateur after serving his 20 month ban. He also won the UK Championship in 2021. Murphy will have steam coming out of his ears if he loses which would be very funny

An awful snookering day for Gus Mears. I'm not a big O'Sullivan fan but I find Hawkins impossibly dull. Shaun Murphy getting through. My main man Rob Milkins being Rob Milkins and wilting like overdone spinach. Horrible.

I've enjoyed what I've seen so far. Carter vs Lisowski has been my favourite match. Lisowski played some great snooker and Carter trying to speed up his own playing just led to him crumbling even more. I quite like Carter these days. His anger and stomping around the table brings a bit more entertainment to his matches. He did an interview on Stephen Hendrys YouTube channel and came across as quite a decent guy.

Other highlights have been Zhang Anda getting a 147 and his match yesterday, coming from 5-1 down to beat Bingham 6-5

I'm hoping for a Trump/Lisowski final with Jack winning but he's against Mark Allen today which will be a difficult game.

I usually want Judd Trump to win but I'm hoping Barry Hawkins gets the win today. He seems like a lovely guy and I'd like to see him win a big tournament. He so often falls short after doing all the hard work though

Tomorrow is the start of the Masters. Ronnie has pulled out of the tournament so the first match is now Neil Robertson vs John Higgins. I read that O'Sullivan got frustrated at losing against Milkins in the championship league earlier this week, with reports saying he put his cue in the bin. 

I'm picking Wilson to win it. Although I would like to see Trump win and go on to complete the triple crown in one season by winning the worlds as well.

Being able to pay £7.99 a month for the Eurosport Player is no more. Starting a few weeks ago all the tournaments that were on Eurosport are now on TNT which is around £30 a month. I'm not paying that.

But at least we have the Players Championship starting tonight which is just the top 16 players. I think it's on ITV4 with the second table also being shown on ITVX

Nice bit of needle in round 1 as O'Sullivan (if he turns up) plays Carter.

I'm hoping that Wilson can finally beat the curse.

Pissing down all day. Cracking stuff. No obligation at all to go outside.

I'd love to get a Kyren Vs Judd final. Two best players in the world and they have developed a brilliant competitive rivalry over the past 12 months. Probably means we get Boring Barry Hawkins Vs a Young Chinese Player (trademark: Dennis Taylor) because that's how snooker works.

Wilson vs Trump in the final would be the perfect way to end the season. I have really enjoyed the matches they've had against each other this season. My prediction is Wilson. Since winning last year he's been elevated to the next level.

I'll most likely be wrong as it's not really been predicable since Hendry in the 90s.

The curse strikes again! Fantastic first round match, those 6 in a row from Lei were brilliant, and Kyren did well to find some courage to take it to a final frame, but an amazing performance from Lei Peifan. Well deserved.
