Ali Carter is a known Brexiteer, Farage and Trump-supporting anti-vaxer. Maybe that's why O'Sullivan isn't fond of him.

You could have just said he's from Essex, quicker.

I don’t think being open about your mental health gives you a pass on being an arsehole though.  Given what Ronnie said about him in that interview, this seems a relatively mild comeback.

I don't think it gives you a pass to be an arsehole either but Carter was trying to come across as "it doesn't effect me and I'm taking the higher ground" whilst throwing out barbs about ROS being mentally unwell.

ROS literally said part of his issue was that they used to practice together and he had shared a lot of stuff with him - which I took to mean about his mental struggles and that he felt betrayed by someone he once thought was his mate talking shit about him - then Carter's out saying he feel's sorry for him as he's clearly mentally ill.

I was at the Grand Prix last night and I'm not really sure why Vafaei walked out at the end without shaking Mark Williams hand. I know Vafaei looked annoyed most of the night but I thought it was because of the way he lost the second frame. I must have missed something that wasn't easy to notice while in the audience.

I'm going to the day session today so I'm looking forward to seeing O'Sullivan and Ding.

"Can we do like a best in the world trophy?"

"We gave that to Shane McMahon, remember?"

"Oh yeah. Invent a new ball then. Who is Alex Higgins going to play?"

The snooker is going to Saudi in March for the first time but with a new ball. Mad idea. But I could see Ronnie getting a 167 break tbf.

Games gone, lads.

Hideously reminiscent of Snooker Plus, a not well remembered variant of the 1950s or 1960s.

A purple & orange ball were added between brown/blue & blue/pink worth 8 & 10 points.

It's down with the quadruple segments on dart boards.

Like David Icke appearing in a porn movie, there's a curiosity factor but no-one really wants to see it.

I've read a few articles but none of them have stated where it will be placed or and consequences of a foul involving said ball.  Can a player pot by cannoning a red or colour off this new ball?

It's bizarre.

It's O'Sullivan vs Trump in the final tomorrow. Should be a good one.

If anyone can beat Ronnie it’s Trump. Hard to see on this form though.

I’ve been wondering the same. Perhaps a drop ball might be be the answer. Comes out of a shoot hanging above the table.

It might sound really stupid but I've always felt like Ronnie the majority of the time beats himself in matches.

I've felt that for large portions of his career he seemed so distracted or un-focused that it hampered him hugely.

If he had the mentality of 80's Steve Davis or 90's Stephen Hendry and could have maintained that throughout his career, I genuinely believe he would potentially have won practically every tournament he ever entered. I honestly believe he has that much talent.

Aye, I think that's a standard enough view from those inside the sport to be honest. He's the greatest ever and we've probably seen him actually exhibit that in a fraction of the amount of tournaments he could have.

Got round to watching the Prime documentary a few days ago - I put it off as I felt like having followed his career and read his autobiography I was a bit washed out of the whole C'mon Ronnie! thing - and yeah it's brilliant, and completely attests to your viewpoint. He's an odd dude. At once completely ordinary and no-bullshit and also a mass of complexes. There was a sizeable stretch in his career where he just played shit if the match wasn't interesting enough to keep him engaged.

In so many other sports "Playing shit on purpose" is the land of the conspiracy, and to be honest in a lot of cases I think "Not trying for your badge" is a harsh barstool criticism as well rather than an actual reflection of reality but this guy's apathy was the real deal. Final? Yeah, sorry. Not fucked today.

I really hope he moves one ahead of Hendry this May and rides off into the sunset with his increasingly lout-enabled following. C'MON ROCKET! FINISH THE STORY!
