It’s been a superb tournament and I can’t recall a ‘shot of the tournament’ including as many shots as good as they all were.

The final was incredible and I found myself switching my winner almost every 2 minutes.

With 2 frames to go I thought Murphy had it, and then when it came down to the decider Wu looked destined to take it. Really likeable guy, which is a hard thing to achieve in a sport dominated by UK and Irish players for so long and when you don’t speak English.

The “Wuuuuuuuuu” thing can fuck off already though.

That was great to watch, loads of fun. The rest shot in that final frame by Wu was a bit of a nailbiter.

Had to check a stat on Wiki, and, unless I've missed something, this is the first time in the World championship's history that it's been won two years in a row by a non-British player. Certainly the first consecutive wins by Non-Commonwealth at least.

Anything that takes away from the "Come on Ronnie/John" nonces is ok in my book.

That yellow might be the greatest shot I've ever seen. Absolutely insane shot to take on in the circumstances. Can't think of any other player who would take it on with that kind of confidence.

I was at the Crucible for Wu's first session, and was instantly impressed. When he beat my boy Selby I was sure he could win it. Usually I don't like the overly attacking/naive young players, I like my snooker players to have a bit of match play and ability to play the 'right' shot, but Wu does it so well, I can't help but love him. Could easily be seen as the best long potter the game has ever seen if he keeps up the consistency. Some of his long pots were like watching the paradigm shift, slamming them in when he's right up on the baulk cushion like it was nothing, over and over again.

Still think he needs to work on his shot choice, but that's the same for all young players. The problem he could run into is the Brecel problem, if the crazy attacking form that won you the World Title is fleeting, you'll struggle to maintain winning the big titles. But there's something about Wu that makes me think he might just become the next real dominant player. He's the real deal I think. Maybe even more so that Xintong.

Wu's big advantage is that he's not going to change his training regime to pies and Leffe like Brecel did immediately after winning the world's. I do except him to have notable peaks and troughs though playing like he does. You can't regularly get shots like the yellow when you're short on form.

I said to a mate early on I fancied him to go all the way, but of course didn't put any money on.

My only frustration with him was his regular making of 50-70 breaks and not killing off the frame, which happened repeatedly.

But how can you not love him, look at him!

His acceptance speech when he mentioned his parents made me cry, but then it does every year to be honest.

I still think Murphy is a weirdo and him looking into the camera after each shot really made me feel on edge, almost in a creepy way.

I saw something on twitter this morning that Murphy was still partying/taking photos and having a good time at the afterparty at 4am AFTER losing a final, not sure you would see the greats of Ronnie, Hendry doing that after losing a final.

What a load of bollocks, it's a tradition that the finalists, attend the post final piss up and have a time of it.

If you don't like Murphy that's fine, but I feel like people reach for extra things to hate him about.

I havd no idea if Shaun is a nice lad, I'm pretty sure there's only one person in this thread that has had extended time around him, but things like hearing he was out until 4am and made time for everyone with pics etc and also him sorting out tickets for JVs kids to the final make him alright with me.
