Niki Lauda was an absolute legend in more ways than one. I met him a few times over the years and he always had time for fans. To have come through what he went through is an inspiration and he will be very sorely missed. Between him and Charlie Whiting who died earlier this year, it worries me who’s next.

Saw them live years ago supporting the Levellers, not a band I've particularly followed but they've released some good tunes.

Judith Kerr passed away aged 95, an astounding innings for an illustrator, writer, and all round cornerstone of a lot of our childhoods. 

She also popped up in that really sweet Mog Christmas advert from a couple of years back. Great back catalogue of work

That one's hit me hard, but a hell of an innings given the life he had.

I adore 13th Floor Elevators, and a lot of Roky's solo material is wonderful - I always saw him as a sort of American Syd Barrett, in his way.

That said, perhaps one of his more heartbreaking, fragile moments, was his collaboration with Mogwai;
