That had the odd legend on it, but you'd tend to have them go on winning streaks for an eventual Goldberg squash. Saturday Night used to have loads of young guys on it. It was a mini developmental show. Three Count, Sean O'Haire, Chuck Palumbo, Mike Sanders etc. all were on Saturday Night prior to showing up on Nitro. Saturday Night was a class little experimental show.

The brief period I did wrestling training, we had a trainer who specialised in amateur wrestling, and taught us the amateur version of a German suplex, where you trap one arm, you drop really low, and use a bit of power to hoist them over. It's not meant to drop them on their head, it's more of a takedown from the back, if anything.

It's a change in mindset when you've done some shoot, amateur or freestyle, that you realise these moves are meant to pin, not paralyse. It gives you a healthy respect for the skill and for your opponent, I think.
Vamp
Somebody should bring back the gimmick from the early Impacts where matches had time limits and there was a ticking clock on the screen. I guess it wouldn't work on a 3 hour or 2 hour show... Also, been watching some of those Cena meeting sick children videos. He's ace isn't he? It's not just that he seems to genuinely care but that he's obviously worked hard to get it right. He's set such a high standard for anyone who's ever given that chance to be the face of the company.
Polish Dad
Cena's so good at those. When I had to make a video for Make A Wish (I work on a kids game and they wanted some messages of support during the pandemic) I just sat and watched an hour of his appearances back to back to get an idea of where to even start. Impossible not to get choked up watching.

Kevin rocks up with Cena! Think Cena had a title with him, and took as long as needed to interact with them all. Big respect for Cena
Paid Members Statto Posted June 17, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted June 17, 2020 "Buzz Sawyer" is a fucking great ring name. I've never really considered what a great name it was until just now.

Paid Members Maverick Posted June 18, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted June 18, 2020 He did it to Magnum TA as well. Magnum tracked him down and got broke in pretty much immediately.

Taker tells the story on the Austin podcast, yeah. First day they turned up for training they had to bang on Buzz's door for like an hour, before he answered bollock naked. They then proceeded to train in Buzz's driveway, with his neighbours watching, no ring. Then Buzz skipped town, leaving his dogs behind (the bastard), so Taker adopted the dogs and figured that was what he was getting for his money. Still, fucking brilliant ring name. Paid Members Maverick Posted June 20, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted June 20, 2020 Watching Judgement Day 98 and finding it mental that two people, Dustin and Billy Gunn, wrestled on this week's Dynamite 22 years later with JR on commentary. Edge and Christian have been on Raw the last week or two also.
