What?
How boring was Moonlight? Loved Hidden Figures though. The Founder was a good watch as well.
Awards Moderator Onyx2 Posted February 21, 2017 Awards Moderator Share Posted February 21, 2017 I saw Lego Batman last week. It's early days but in the afterglow I feel like it's the funniest film I've ever seen. Several times I attracted glances by snorting loudly at a gag that completely crept up on me. Even non-gag lines like   " 'Sup, Supes?"   had me guffawing. Can't wait to see it again.  So yeah, there's this bit where Alfred runs through   all the previous Batman films   and off the back of that I decided to re-watch 1989 Batman. I was 10 when it first came out and was completely absorbed into the hype machine. I've seen it dozens of times since and really enjoyed it, but I probably last watched in the early 2000s.  It was absolute shit. It doesn't make any sense, we move from scene to scene with no real continuity, the central plot doesn't work, the enmity between Joker and Batman is never setup, you have two similar blond (bland!) leading ladies and one of them is not needed, there's too many crime bosses, Batman himself cannot do anything without a gadget, the background actors are mucking about...  The film is only entertaining when Jack Nicholson's on screen. Outside of that, it's just shit. I was so disappointed.
Juan Manforce
Lego Batman is fantastic. I'd go see it again on my day off, but I imagine the police would be called pretty quick if a grown man went to a U movie on his own Went to see it myself last week alone and wasn't the only grown man there by himself, you're probably fine... probably. Really enjoyed it, the only bit that took me out of the film slightly was near the end...  ...when everyone being made of Lego saved the day, but I had to remind myself what I was watching here  ...which did nothing to hamper my overall enjoyment of the film.  I saw John Wick Chapter 2 today. I love the original and was expecting something special seeing the reviews, but it left me with mixed feelings. The action is amazing and some of the deadpan humour landed, but it lacked the heart of the first one, and most of the laughs I got from it were unintentional. I've seen a lot of reviews describing it as surreal, which is probably the best word for it, but that aspect really didn't work for me. I'll need to watch it again to see how I really feel about it, but 9 times out of 10 a great film shouldn't need a rewatch to appreciate it, so I don't know how much my opinion can change. At least it wasn't as sugary an ending as The Lego Movie. There were a bunch of lines I was pissing myself at for no particular reason too.   "IRON MAN SUCKS"   Had me in fits and I have no idea why. Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted February 21, 2017 Author Paid Members Share Posted February 21, 2017 50 Shades Darker - it's not as shit as the first one. Â The faintest praise anything has ever been damned with.
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted February 21, 2017 Author Paid Members Share Posted February 21, 2017 The mistake they make on the no nudity front is casting name actors in the lead. If they'd stuck some less visible names in it, then they might have been willing to whap it and them out and at least it might have some pornographic worth. Paid Members Lorne Malvo Posted February 21, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted February 21, 2017 As a straight man, I'd rather spend 2 hours looking at Jamie Dornan's cock than sitting through his woeful acting.

Paid Members ColinBollocks Posted February 22, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted February 22, 2017 Netflix are producing Scorsese's The Irishman film, which has De Niro, Pesci and Pacino attached to it. Apparently, Paramount decided against it, because Silence is a financial bomb. Â Also, still livid the BBC canceled the daft House of Fools. Â The faintest praise anything has ever been damned with. Â Â I do have a knack for it. Â Â "50 Shades.." takes itself too fecking seriously. Should have went the "Emmanuelle" way and did it with a nudge and a wink. Edited February 22, 2017 by bAzTNM#
Mr_Danger
Funnily enough the copy I was skipping through had a bit where he popped some balls up her muff and the audience were laughing their arses off and it was actually pretty funny. I reckon someone needs to whack a laughter track on it and make it a comedy.
WyattSheepMask
If you think about it for any brief moment of time your head will be done in. I went with the wife, as I did the first one and because I'd made her see Lego Batmsnthe week before, and even she knows it's just silly. It's not doing any harm to anyone and if people go out & have a giggle at it then what's the harm
Keith Houchen
Well, the harm could be showing and phrasing sexual assault as BDSM. Plus that they are utterly without worth.
