The best thing Shudder have done that I've seen is the superb documentary Black Noire: The History of Black Horror. Absolutely essential viewing imo.

The other stuff they have made themselves I've not seen much of. I binged the first season of Creepshow and it was abit to hit and miss.

It's an acquired taste but I absolutely love Raw Force. It's low budget and bonkers zombie/cannibal/kung fu masterpiece.

Pontypool is superb and doesn't get mentioned enough.

Likewise to Prevenge.

There's actually tons of classics on there right now. Depends how much you have already seen and what you are after. There's a slew of Argento's Gialli that I would consider absolutely essential. American Werewolf in London, Phantasm, Intruder, Oldboy, It Follows, Scanners, The Raid, Hellraiser, Night of the Living Dead, Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Then there is stuff that I love but probably aren't for everyone like Blood Rage, The Mutilator, Frankienstein's Army, Terrifier, Splinter, Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon, Your Vice is a Locked Room and Only I Have the Key, Class of Nukem High, Madman, Death Walks At Midnight, Death Walks on High Heels, Elvira: Mistress of the Dark, Toxic Avenger, Slumber Party Massacre, Demons, Don't go in the Woods Alone..., Evil Aliens, Thirst, House By the Cemetery,

Also Body Melt stars Harold off Neighbours.

Thanks plenty to try and get through here. Ended up watching Phantasm 1 and 2, which are still ridiculous but awesome fun to watch after a few beers.

That's the one. It's pretty mental and not exactly good per say but fascinating none the less.

Intruder

I'd never seen this and was looking forward to it. After watching just thought... meh. Typical 80's slasher with loads of bad acting and a bunch of really tame kills. After looking online at reviews found out the version on Shudder is a massively edited version with loads of the special effects and gore cut out.

Shame as I don't think the film is strong enough to warrant a total rewatch on the high seas. Thats a shame and disappointing. Will have to check in future if Shudder has the uncut versions.

Its quite funny though that people are voting Marvel films and also think 'Oh but yeah Casablanca as well'

Doesn’t that scream of the variety of films? I loved Parasite, saw it before the Oscar nominations. I loved it as much as I enjoyed Avengers Endgame. For completely different reasons. Parasite, a far superior film. But the experience of seeing Endgame with a crowd of Marvel fans wrapping up a 20+ film story arc was amazing.

Tron Legacy is one of my favourite films for a few reasons, but it’s not a great film, but visually, and for other reasons it means a lot and I love it. Its like writing off Abba for being pop music, or The Beatles for being too popular. Films are art as well. Sometimes really shallow, sometimes really thought provoking. But you can enjoy something crap as well as something critically acclaimed.

57. Blade Runner 2049 is mental. I mean I loved it but I know I'm in the minority there. I don't understand how that got enough votes to end up on the list at all, let alone mid list.

But I guess it's all down to the Empire audience really. You'll get your standard expected fare and then Point Break is in there?

Are you thinking of a different film? It was universally acclaimed.
