Seriously I refuse to accept resorting to doing this is successful and in no way long term damaging to the company and for future event sales moving forward. Going to such a excessive effort to boost live gates isn't the smart places to go in any way it's so counterintuitive and desperate Quote

We even have a form of it over here for 3pm kick offs in football. Quote

Apollo Crews storming in, grabbing the remote and switching it over to, “Songs of Praise.” It’ll be the most heat he’s ever gotten. I refuse to believe it makes much difference to ticket sales. If people aren’t willing to pay ten grand for a ticket in the first place, what difference is not letting them watch it in a bar going to do? They’ll just watch it at home, or not at all. Paid Members I Bent My Wookie Posted February 21 Paid Members Posted February 21 Yeah we literally live in a country/region where our main sporting outlet isn't allowed to be shown live at 3pm on a Saturday to enable others to go and watch it live rather than stay at home. Its nothing new, its nothing groundbreaking and to be honest its a long time coming. Sure its ticket prices putting people off, along with travelling to America at a time where you wouldn't want to really be there unless you have to, but it makes sense rather than people just going into the area and tailgating the event and then into a pub to watch it on the cheap. They're a company paying people in the millions every year, as much as people don't like it, they need to make a profit to account for the money they're spending. Quote

Was mentioning wrestlemania and they wondered if the sentiment of people not wanting to spend tourist dollars in the states has much of an impact. They've said they don't particularly feel safe going there at the moment. So I do think it's a genuine concern out there. Quote

Brandon Thurston wrote an article recently saying WWE did over $66 million in ticket sales for WrestleMania 41, which is insane! No doubt they're going to try and top that this year along with more money from sponsorship etc. They're currently at 38K tickets sold (they were around 45K tickets sold last year at this point) with just under 2 months to go. It’s not a new tactic. Although of course, the product was worth watching back then which always helps… Quote

Can sit in the house/hotel, invite your mates round if they're interested and watch on the ESPN app, no need for VPNs or dodgy streams. Can even sit in the bar and stream it legally there. It's the bar that can't show it or promote it. Quote
