I loved Riddle in PROGRESS, but his style would never properly translate to WWE. I reckon hell go back to the indies. He wouldn't be too out of place in Ring Of Honor as he can do strong style, but, as mentioned, there is a lot of baggage that comes with him after the speaking out stuff.

Which didn’t stop Tony Khan from signing Jay Lethal. If Khan’s a fan of Riddle; he’ll bring him in regardless, I imagine.

This is true.

I'm wondering if Riddle (rightfully) shitting on UFC and Dana for years or being a garbage human more recently was the reason for his release.

Dana is 100% petty enough to want to fire Riddle twice.

I doubt Dana has any say over how Endeavor runs WWE, to be honest. And I doubt even more that it had much to do with him as a person. If he was a top guy generating money, they wouldn't have gotten rid of him.

I'd wager that it's probably down to his contract and him being seen as not providing enough of a return on that investment. Not that his being problematic as an individual didn't make the choice easier, of course.

It's being reported that the folks at Endeavour have put Tripper in charge of all the creative for WWE.

Not much discussion on this but it's one of the bigger stories of the year. It sounds like Vince got played the same way Turner did with the AOL merger, considering Endeavour were buttering him up publicly in the run up to the merger. I know he rides off into the sunset with bags of cash but him being ousted from creative/content roles completely? Things you love to see. A lot of who is booking what is conjecture but there was signs from pretty much the last ten minutes of WrestleMania this year that Vince was making big calls again. Triple H has his hangups but business and creative are in a much better place with his take on things.

Didn't they do this a few years back, and it was basically still Vince dictating everything and using HHH as the middle-man, just to get Vince out the spotlight until things blew-over?

True, but this time Vince isn't actually the boss any more - he doesn't have the power to do even that.

I think fans are just reading too much into this as if it's some huge conspiracy.  Vince will probably always turn up to the odd Raw and make suggestions, but I don't think he's been "in charge" of creative at all since the merger.  He still has a large role in the new organisation, if anything they've just told him to concentrate on that.

The idea that Vince has been "had" in some way is just... the guy has just banked an insanely large cheque, still has a very high level job.  He's not an idiot, he's been doing this for years.  He knew when he sold the company that it was the end of one way of working.

As I said in some other thread, I think it's more that it's finally sinking in with the fans and the roster that the McMahon era is over.  For the first time ever, there's no McMahon in charge of booking.  Hunter's been groomed for this position, he has earned it and now he's doing it.  That's the really big story.

I'm sure Tripper knows if he needs to he can give Vince a call and bend his ear for advice about something, but he's such a student of every aspect of wrestling that he is probably the best person for the job.

I'm still waiting on hearing some stories that tell us what a good brain for the business Hunter's become, like all those famous road trip stories where Chico gave Shawn or Kev the best advice of all time off the top of his head. The closest I've heard is when they wanted to have RVD beat him to become the first new World Heavyweight Champion on Raw when they were going to throw the Undisputed title into dispute, and Hunter told them it would get him more heat if they just presented him the belt on Raw on a whim of Bischoff beforehand. Which makes a lot of sense, but he did it for selfish motives. And in the end, didn't end up putting RVD over at all.

Almost every wrestler that has been in-ring with him praises his mind for the business with the exception of Bret Hart. Even the ones who think he is a completely disgusting person have commented that his mind for the business is a level above most. Even just a quick google search of people who praised his knowledge of the business brings up a variety of names before you start delving into the vast amounts I’ve heard say it in other interviews.
