I saw he was in a hospice for end of life care because he hadn't been well, but when I saw he wasn't singer if Smash Mouth anymore I investigated and saw he'd been spouting antivax stuff and doing nazi salutes at some of their gigs so they replaced him. Never a major star with a tonne of hit records, he was nonetheless a significant part of the Texas country music scene in the 90's and 2000's.
