This is the most offensive thing about it to me. I don't think we can just ban the word grooming entirely, but saying "it's not development, it's jsut somewhere we develop people" is deeply upsetting. Take the belt off him.

It's not tone deaf, he just worded something clumsily. There's a thick line between the two.

Usually I'd be on the side of not body-shaming wrestlers and not giving a fuck about physique/size etc, but then on Dynamite you see an absolute specimen like Buddy Matthews have to sell Adam Cole's shite noodle-arm punches and I'll think 'you know, maybe they do have a point'.

2:32:00 if you want to hear it. Frankly I don’t really care if Nigel Farage posted the tweet* it’s a quote. I actually saw one of our own quote it on twitter but now I’ve heard it in context, even though he points out his Dad using his size, it’s a dumb quote and saying it’s ok to do is stupid.

Still, guess it gives SBA something else he can shout at the wrestlers next time he’s at a show.

Physique can be important but not in the simple way he says it is. As we all know there's lots of different types of characters in wrestling and therefore all shapes and sizes and that really helps people to stand out. You want the bigger ones. You want the more normal looking ones. You want a diverse roster.

I'm guessing he's a guy who really takes pride in himself and he obviously believes that's what people want from a star in his position. He's worded it very badly though and ended up putting a lot of others down.

He's absolutely right of course, but has worded it simplisticly because he's a pro-wrestler. 

You need to look the way wrestlers are presented on a case by case basis. Triple H stood out as fat that one time he got bang into the doughnuts, because that had never been his presentation and fans have a right to say that. But no one with ever brains used 'fatty' as a pejorative against Viscera because that was the point and he'd crush you you silly cunt.

It's all graded against the personal presentation of the wrestler; and whilst I wouldn't call it 'shaming' per se, I'm happy to say regularly there are things someone like Bronson Reed could do to improve his presentation whilst maintaining his physicality, because at times he looks a little soft. That's fine, that's the business.

We all know it's a vanity business, it's why everyone suddenly finds their abs ahead of Wrestlemania. 

It's a bit tedious how the anti-Cody takes come from AEW accounts. Like, he didn't always fit in in your favourite company and left, that's okay. He went to another company and did fit in and was given the world title, that's fine too. It's all good.
