I'd like to see him return to AEW (think I'm in the minority there, though...) but I don't think it's likely, at least, not on any sort of permanent basis. If AEW ever creates a Hall of Fame, it's pretty much certain that they'd want him in there. However, I could see him ending up with a staff job at WWE in the future - perhaps even unseating Triple H one day, or at least being ranked at a similar level within the organisation.

I always got the impression that was the endgame for Cody. Not least on some level because a Rhodes booking WWE would have been unthinkable once upon a time. I would not be shocked to see Cody in the big chair and CM Punk running NXT in a few years time.

I've only had 4 Newcy Brown and 3 Theakstons and genuinely thought the first part was about the Royal Rumble for some reason

Cody as head booker would create the most insane TV imaginable. It'd be this weird mix of Vince Russo style crash TV complete with endless "shooting", rehashing old WCW/NWA angles completely out of context, and stuff he's copied from comic books he read as a teenager. I'd watch it.

I think he'd be more likely to do more acting. Isn't that what he originally wanted to do before he starting wrestling?

A few adjustments and he’d be an amazing right wing grifter. I’d suspect he could never truly buy in to the rhetoric as he really seems like a mostly decent fella but his look and likability would have him in the White House by the age of 50 and he has the ultimate get out of racist jail free card. Get Big Match John in as the Secretary of Hustle, Loyalty and Respect.
