Paid Members Egg Shen Posted August 2, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted August 2, 2020 a staple of my youth was a milk flavoured lolly which had a flake buried through the middle of it. I think they were called a '99, but im unable to find any pictures of it. A fantastic icey treat.
Paid Members Lion_of_the_Midlands Posted August 2, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted August 2, 2020 A 99 is a Mr Whippy with a flake in it. I've no idea what yours was called Egg.
Paid Members Egg Shen Posted August 2, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted August 2, 2020 yeh i know, i thought it was called a '99 as well for some reason. Ive googled it and cant find anything, i aint making this up ?
Paid Members Bus Surfer Posted August 2, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted August 2, 2020 (edited) I'm with Egg here. It might have been a regional thing, but the '99 definitely existed in the early 90's. It was made by Sidoli who were a South Wales based firm. They were pretty shit though in all honesty. Feast for me. Edited August 2, 2020 by Silky Kisser
Mr_Danger
Was there ever a third Feast flavour? This thread has made me realise that I still eat way too much ice cream as most the things people are looking back at nostalgically are still staples of my junk food regime. Guest
Feast is alright, but it's no Festival.
Paid Members Lion_of_the_Midlands Posted August 2, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted August 2, 2020 Sidoli are still around. They do a very nice chocolate orange cake amongst other things. Not so much ice creams though.
Paid Members Carbomb Posted August 2, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted August 2, 2020 I don't know how long for, but Iceland have started stocking these. I hate liquorice, so haven't tried the Black Jacks, but my mum loves them. The Fruit Salads are really nice. Given how popular the original sweets are, it's a little surprising this idea didn't occur sooner, I'm sure they would've gone down hugely back in the 80s and 90s. Members SuperBacon
Iceland adopting the Sports Direct approach of hoovering up forgotten brands. I want to try those Flumps ones.

I was left with a cold black tongue and belly full of regret. Haven't tried the others.
Paid Members FLips Posted August 2, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted August 2, 2020 Had the Wham tub after my brother gave me it saying he didn't like it. It's just Raspberry Ripple with a bit of tang.

The nogger is essentially a feast but there's something slightly different in the mix that makes the nogger slightly better, like how cadbury branded chocolate from counties that just pile it full of sugar is delightfully more moreish than what we get.
